Lol the boots were 3 hours worth of ebay searching through military standard boots till I found a pair with 2 belts and a zipper. They were 70 dollars - if you want a link I can link you to the store itself. Then when they came in the mail I went and bought Rustic Krylon Grass green spray paint and put on like 8 layers over the next 2 weeks of getting them. The Paint didnt really stick well... if you look closly its rubbing off. Im going to have to buy more cans or find a better brand that can stick to leather. Lol.

That sounds like a lot of work, but I'm willing to do it. I have so much cosplay I need to prepare for (like Jason when he's older, Red Robin, civvie!Robin from Young Justice) that I haven't even started. OTL

My god I know! xD I wanna cosplay Red Hood and have my best friend be Joker so I can carry around a crowbar and occasionally hit her with it. Jkjk.
Awwwwwwh. x) Thank you for the links by the way!

lupevales In reply to MadRussiansDance [2011-03-29 05:52:40 +0000 UTC]

I wanna re enact the original crowbar scene so bad. Lol. If I had local buddies into doing a perfect photoshoot I'd totally do it. Jason snooping in the canvas tent with crates. Cornered by Joker. Beaten down by the crowbar. Him waking up tied to a pole in the wharehouse and the Bomb ticking its minutes down. His fake mom tied on the other side of the Pole. Jason painfully managing to escape the bonds. and starting to drag her beaten body out and then Black... explosion. The remains of the wharehouse. Batman searching and pulling out Jason's dead corpse. It would be such an epic photoshoot but it would have to be done right for it to be an effective shoot

lupevales In reply to verDerbt [2011-03-28 06:47:13 +0000 UTC]

THANKS verDerbt. Oh sadly? Last minute they never tied me and our joker was a no show. ALthough the mystery was a success I was the one who was disapointed. I sat quietly in the corner of the room holding a poster that looked like a tv. and it was supposed to be a spy camera trained on me. I was given a rag and was told to gag myself and hold the poster up for an hour. and then near the end I was to move into the clock on my own when the audience was lead to another room and I was handed a vine and told to wrap it around myself. so much for my dream tie up

verDerbt In reply to lupevales [2011-03-29 20:07:06 +0000 UTC]

On no... That's an anticlimax for sure... after all the work you put in, to boot.

They don't know what they were missing out on... you look so cute that anyone even remotely so inclined would find themselves tying you up even before their brain caught up with what they were doing XD
The gloves and boots alone are a treat, but combined with that detailed outfit and your expression of equal parts alert cockiness and mischief... in my book, that's capture guaranteed. Simply cast me as Joker's henchman next time, haha ^^

lupevales In reply to verDerbt [2011-03-30 03:49:32 +0000 UTC]

*dies* WOW thanks for the major compliment! I thought my outfit was a fail because the I was unable to properly finish the vest. Note the yellow buckles are all loopy and out of place. Totally need to resew them though ... sombody had mentioned instead of cloth lines I should go with yellow frog closures. Which actually would be cool looking. xD I still need to sew the red kevlar to the inside of the vest and sew in the frayed ends.

Other than that its almost complete. As for the panel itself I did realise that if the gag is not tied tightly... its hard to keep a rag over your mouth. Lol. I was unable to double knot it. so it kept falling off. Lol. I eventually bit it to keep it on but even then it slid down my neck I was like "ugh" I had to keep putting down the poster to adjust it when no one was looking. xD

verDerbt In reply to lupevales [2011-04-01 18:43:44 +0000 UTC]

You're far too hard on yourself When you have a fixed expectation of what something should look like, you can't judge it fairly any more ^^ Frog closures would likely hold better, too, when you're moving much, wouldn't they?

Guess a costume as detailed as what you're aiming at is an eternal WIP anyway... not least because no matter how much work you're willing to put in there's always money involved.

Self bondage (and being told to act as if is basically nothing but) is okay, but the feeling one gets from being really unable to get free - that nice, thrilling, sinking feeling - can only be achieved when your counterpart knows what they're doing. Sadly, so many people don't have the foggiest grasp of bondage physics XD

lupevales In reply to verDerbt [2011-04-05 16:02:21 +0000 UTC]

Bondage physics. Lol sounds like a college course. xD But you're right THERe is dynamics to it grantably. Being grabbed in itself and held is something Ive yet to experience as well. I daydream about a someday working for Central INtell or something and being captured and escorted..... what it must feel like to have 2 armed guards on either side of you holding your arms.. I want to know that feeling x.x

Lol perhaps if our group gets asked to do more batman we can do something a bit more on the cannon batman range instead of kiddyfying it x.x As according to request

Just start working at some out-of-the-way Seven Eleven and wait for the next hold-up... "Oh, hi, nice to meet you. Impressive gun - here's the cash register. Wait, WAIT! You forgot to tie me. Here's some fine rope. And don't worry about the security cameras, I disabled them along with the alarm."

That would certainly cater to ...more selective audiences. Depending on the period, from what I gleaned, canon storyline is a bit more to your taste than re-enacting the Adam West series

Well Our leader wanted to work off of the batman animated series from the 90's by warner brothers, and of course I didnt realise this until way to late, so I had my hopes worked up for this awesome beat down with joker only to realise She thought that way to violent and wanted to cater to 5 year old audiences.

The event was still a success. The crowd loved it and what I thought was funny was even the crowd wanted me to die. They were like "who cares if the brat dies, kill him" Which left me sitting in the corner cracking up but perhaps next time we can do something along those lines. Although bree made it clear if we were to have robin killed we'd have to actually declare the event 18 plus. which I think is silly seeing in kids plays, characters do die. Oliver twist example.

verDerbt In reply to lupevales [2011-04-05 19:24:45 +0000 UTC]

Well, she's probably not so much following her own standards as pre-empting hypocrites to shield your troupe... we all know there's tons of violence floating the net, media and games, but all it takes is for one Super-Mom or Wonder-Daddy to declare their offspring scarred for life XD

I suppose thats true, x.x I honestly dont think any parent taking thier child to a batman event however would assume it kiddie material with the release of dark knight Batman hype has done a complete U turn from being considered Kiddie ground.

I think everyone loved the darker route its taken as to be honest.... The original 1920's batman is honestly dark like it and I think the original author of bruce wayne would be proud of Dark knight
