I couldn't help it...i'm sorry. Sort of a complimentary piece to *bri-chan 's "pink makes ariel cry" ([link] ).
my best friend is a red-head and for a long time we've been saying how poor Ariel got stuck in the worst color a red-head can be in. Then when Enchanted came out and i started seeing pictures of Andalasian Giselle, i couldn't help but think how Ariel must feel that another Disney red-head has a pink dress and looks better in it.
The little chibi-like Giselle on the right was done as an afterthought...that's why she looks slightly different. I didn't think the joke would work as well if Ariel was pointing at nothing.

there is no rule when it comes to fashion or art in general. just because you think that pink doesn't go with red-heads doesn't mean that its true. pink does go with red heads. besides, the shade of pink ariel is wearing is actually the best shade. the animators aren't complete morons they know what they are doing, they didn't study theory of colors and art histories for nothing.
besides, do you know what "color enhancement" means? it means that you put a different color beside the color you currently have to enhance or compliment it. its exactly when people say "that shirt color matches your eyes". there are billion shades of red hair color. just as there are billion shades of pink. you just have to find the right shade for you. to tell you the truth i think baby pink/powder pink, salmon, peach and rose pinks go brilliantly with red-heads. believe it or not you can also wear red too. like i said there are no rules when it comes to either fashion or art. its not like mathΒ

At least you are animated the entire film, Giselle is only animated for about 18 minutes

Lol i know how that is. I'm a red-head myself and I always wondered about the pink dress (and why someone thought it was a good idea). Whatever, as far as I'm concerned Giselle isn't even a true red-head. She's doesn't even really qualify as a ginger in my book; she's more of a strawberry or light titan blonde like my sister.

That's awesome! 
But to be fair, Ariel's dress is really beautiful, especially considering that The Little Mermaid was done in the 80's, (though perhaps it still wasn't condusive to her hair color). Giselle was done recently and is more of a strawberry blonde in Andalasia.
In any event, I'm not sure Giselle qualifies as a Disney princess, as she was a composite of the preexisting Disney princesses with the intent of poking fun at Disney's cliches.
[Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Giselle, more so than the two new official additions to the Disney princess pantheon, but after seeing Disney incorporate Tiana and Rapunzel with the classics (Cinderella, Ariel, Aurora, etc.) it's pretty clear that Disney isn't interested in counting Giselle as a princess.]

I know this was posted years ago, but I just gotta say I agree with you. I see so much complaining about pink looking invariably awful on both carrotops and unrealistic "cherrytops" like Ariel, and I...don't really get it? I think it real life, people tend to chose overly bright pinks to go with ginger hair when soft and greyish pinks would work better, but that's not really a problem for Ariel.

lol. I didn't really care for Enchanted or Princess Giselle but this is funny. I would wear either one of their dresses though.

The girl that the guy in New York was with, Nancy, she became a princess.
