I love the softness of this, especially the fact that there's no actual focus point, it gives it a sort of dream-like quality, I think that if the front had been in focus I would have dismissed it as just another DOF experiment... anyway, I think it's good like this

Well i'm totally disagreeing. This is not an illustrating picture it's an interpretive. There is absolutly no reason that there has to be something razorsharp. You know what the subject is, my overall intention was not to photograph wheat with a dof gimmick which "looks good".
I expected advanced critique with the thumbnail forum, not someone looking at a work for several seconds and writing one sentence. I'm open for constructive critique, which means sharing your opinion AND give reasons for it. Please don't feel offended by it.

An dem Bild hab' ich garnichts gemacht ausser ΓΌber eine Stunde Kratzer und Staub retuschiert, Scan vom Scala. Ist glaube ich eines meiner besten Bilder bisher unter fotografischen Gesichtspunkten, ganz ohne knallige Farben und ohne hippes Motiv, grundehrlich sozusagen.
