i don't know why but this oddly reminds me of how general Patton slapped 2 shellshocked soldiers.

Yes, but shellshock (PTSD) wasn't well understood at the time, and at least one of those soldiers had malaria, which Patton didn't know about. He later said it was one of the most shameful episodes of his career and deeply regretted it.
Basically Patton did it because he didn't know any better.
She's doing it just because she can!
