Description Me. Poking fun at my job as a production line floor worker in a linen rental business. I hold the stimulating job of feeding wet pieces of linen into various machines that will make them warm, folded and dry.
Now, I haven't actually pulled any of these stunts....yet. I was going to try to colour this, but it wasn't working out so well, so I said "the heck with it." I've got maybe another half-dozen of similar comics planned, I just don't have any time to do any of them as of late- though I hope that'll change in the near future and before I forget any of them.

/HAHAHAHA!/

the more I read this, the more I see myself at work. Sometimes, the sheets win the tug o' war.

But... That won't be the case for long! I'm UNI bound!

Sometimes it's sad how good the sheets are at the game of tug-o-war.
However... Hurrah for temporary laundry servitude!

(Thank you for the favorites, by the by.)

No probs.

And I THINK that that ironer you mentioned is the ROLLER in my work...

That could be quite likely, methinks.

Are injuries common where you work?

I don't know HOW many times I've burnt my fingers on those... Towels... If you can call SANDPAPER towels...

Luthrai In reply to Wolf-Light [2007-08-15 20:01:19 +0000 UTC]

No, I don't think so. I mean, yeah, I've burned my hands on hot sheets and towels, but all that came from that was callouses. And other than that... Yep, injuries are few and far between. When they do happen though, they're pretty bad.
(And yeah, some of those towels are insane.)

Omg, that is absolutely hillarious. That has got to be one of the best comics I've seen.

see see see- u are supposed to have such a 'drab' job (creatively inspiring)
great comic, can we expect more?

Luthrai In reply to stipend [2006-10-21 15:41:07 +0000 UTC]

*not looking at the nearly-finished comic page on my clipboard* What? Another comic? I'll attempt to look innocent. And fail. So yeah, you can expect to see more... soon, too.
Though I amit, I could go for a less "drab" job in exchange for mental stimulation. ^.-.^

Ooh, nice. I actually might be getting a job at a travel agency- clerical/technical support position. Sent in a resume, and got a call back for an interview. So fingers are crossed. ^.-.^

I personally don't think you need to color this......
It's very well drawn nd coloring it would spoil all the lines of the comic.......
and why oh why can't the bags be used for traveling???
I think it's a marvy idea..

Luthrai In reply to goldengirl11 [2006-10-22 08:06:32 +0000 UTC]

Beats me. They'd be so fast - and efficient. Except for stopping. There's brakes along the tracks hanging from the ceiling, but those bags carry a lot of momentum and could probably throw you off if you weren't hanging on tight enough.
Ah, such silly things sometimes- rules and regulations and all.

That's really well done. I think it's good you didn't colour it ^^ The pencil work is awesome.

It's really cute as well. Keep up the great work ^^

Heehee, thanks. I was a bit iffy with the pencil work at first (hence, why I was trying to colour it), so I'm glad that everyone seems to like it.

Doesn't it? Gah, it's so tempting, too, seeing as how I'm around those bags all day. I could so totally get a good purchase on them, too. Silly rules and regulations.

I'm glad you didn't color it... the pencils are beautiful.
Heeheehee! You're so goofy! I'd love for you to do MY laundry.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Luthrai In reply to MegSyv [2006-10-19 04:09:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah- the colouring quickly screwed with the pencils too much, so I ditched it. So thank you!
There's a bit of a problem to the "your laundry" bit- if it's not in an industrial setting, it's just not as much fun. ^.-.^ I mean, no giant machines to climb about on (even though I'm not allowed to do that anyways), no giant machines period....
Though I'll happily through a blanket over my head and act like a complete fool for you.
Oh, and I hope y'don't mind that I kinda adopted your method of drawing smiles on snouts- it just looks better than a continuous line. Like, a lot better.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MegSyv In reply to Luthrai [2006-10-19 18:40:54 +0000 UTC]

Heck, I dance around with blankets thrown over myself all the time just for fun. Maybe we could do it together sometime... maybe Halloween. We'd have to cut some eyeholes, though.

Yay! I was able to help!
I have to agree. For a few years I drew the continuous line, but after awhile it just got frustrating because it never looked right. XP

The machines sound like a blast to climb around on. Like a giant, dangerous playground.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Luthrai In reply to MegSyv [2006-10-22 08:18:00 +0000 UTC]

Eyeholes are so totally overrated, sez I. Though I thoroughly approve of blanket-dancing. Very Halloween appropriate, too.

Yeah, whenever I draw a continuous line with the intent of it being a smile, it always screws around with the face and the snout- so seeing how you draw yours made me happy. Like, dancing-happy.

And the machines are so totally a giant dangerous playground. They even have walkways over them for when things get stuck or jammed and such. ^__^ Too bad y'need t'be a supervisor t'go on 'em, though.
