Well. I know it's a day late, but oh well. Drew this yesterday, on my 2nd anniversary on dA.Tsume Inuzuka and her likkle doggy, Kuromaru.
I take that back actually.
Her freakin' HUGE doggy.
Anyway, I'm really pleased with this. You know when you draw a picture, look at it, and suddenly realise 'He~y... I CAN draw!' ? This is one of those pictures. I haven't had one since December last year, and I couldn't even upload the image because of copyright blah. AND this is my first time drawing either character, and the first time I've drawn an anime dog. I messed up the face a little... but oh well.
But yes. In case you didn't realise, this is Kiba's mummy and her dog. She's awesome as far as I'm concerned.
I may edit this slightly and use it as a title page if I ever turn Telepathy into a doujinshi.
And about the designs... I know, I didn't give Tsume her scroll pouches (oh well) and Kuromaru actually has his left ear. That's because this is set about six years before Part 1 of Naruto. So I'm saying that he's only missing an eye at the time. And Tusme has shorter hair and looks younger... well, Kiba hasn't turned 7 yet and Hana hasn't turned 13 yet. I don't think she'd have aged too badly... yet. Just you wait.
Inked using Faber-Castell artist pens and a Pilot white gel pen (OH JOY I haven't been able to find one of these, I had to go to a specialised art shop just to find a freakin' gel pen... I'm really happy I have one now though).

Kuromaru is like TWICE as big as (shippuden) Akamaru

Is he officially? Because when I was drawing the picture I referenced the manga with the Sand Invasion of Konoha, and I couldn't get a good sense of scale on it. I really wouldn't be surprised if I should have made him much bigger though. Tsume's crouching, but still... :shrugs: I suck at proportions, and I'm not an amazing artist anyway.

He was originally taller than Tsume (standing on all-fours) then they made him a bit smaller than Akamaru (shippuden) and then they made him twice as big as Akamaru

*whistles* Wow, that's annoying. Well... *shrugs* I'll just have to make him bigger next time and pretend that in this picture Tsume's about 16 and Kuromaru still has some growing to do.

i'm going to have to find me some of those art tools, cuz i've always wanted to do this manga-ish sorta look in a picture, i think it would be fun. so the gel pen, did you use it for some of the lineart on her right side? orwhat.
anyway this picture is AWESOME i think you did an excellent job, and it's definately one of your best~

Yeah, with the gel pen I used it to correct up any places where the black inks overtook the rest of the picture. So even though I tried to leave a white line, I had to go over it with the white pen; like you said, on the side with Kuromaru.
