I tested Zbrush 1 time but... I did struggle soo hard with the Camera control, that I could not enjoy it

it looks soo effective and I wish I could morph/edit my content more, but... I am really stupid for complex software

To be honest, I struggled for several months to "catch on" with Zbrush, but I was also quite determined to learn the software.  It was quite an unusual and challenging interface to grasp at first, but the longer I stuck with it the more it made sense.  One thing I will say about Zbrush, much like when I first started learning Blender or even 3dsmax many years ago, the number of features and depth of the software was very surprising and overwhelming at times.  I knew Zbrush was the one software that was used ubiquitously by professional studios and independent artists alike, so I assumed going in that it would be quite a steep learning curve, but as I advanced in my understanding of the software it became much more exciting than challenging.  Especially as the true depth of what can be done slowly revealed itself.

Yeah it have a lot features and I just checked a Art School, but the interface and the school wasnt the same, it started already with "we use now this object" and I checked my Lib and... I didnt had that object in my List >_<

That did bring me then already into struggle

I started with this:

pixologic.com/zclassroom/lesso…

He used the DynaMesh and I didnt had that so i was already confused how to fullow up then, I used just a other "ball" and did try my best, but hell.... I could really not control the camera good

I would prefer to just Hire people to make stuff for me (I see it also positive, I create new jobs^^) but its hard to find peoples who make daz3d Content, I joined Fiverr, but the most people at Fiverr dont know daz3d or dont know how to make the stuff compatible

And the Official Daz3d store dont have a "hire someone" button or a Request button :/ (same for Renderosity and Renderotica).

That is pretty frustrating and I spend everyday ~10H+ for daz3d so tbh. I think even if I would know Zbrush I dont think i would find anymore time for it...

I love to design my chars/rooms pretty lovely and that takes a lot time

(btw. are you interested into working at daz3d products for me? )

If your Zbrush version is older, you will have a lot of trouble to follow the new tutorials.  If you do not have Dynamesh then the version you have must be older.  I usually do not create objects specifically for Daz3d only because I do not own the software.  I have made objects in the past which have been imported to Daz3d as OBJ and worked just fine.  Most people who use my freebie models are working with either Daz3d or Poser, and most have reported the models to work just fine in those software packages.  The only problem would be that you would need to adjust the materials and include the maps properly because I can not provide models in the native Daz3d file format, only OBJ or FBX.  I could model anything you need and create all the texture maps and UV mapping for you and optimize the model to import as good as it can into the software, but you would need to create the proper materials and save it to your library.  If that interests you, then send me a note and we could talk more about it.  By the way, how is your health situation now?  Is your sister OK?  Last we spoke I believe you thought she may have had the Covid19 virus?  Here in the US we are all under quarantine at home, just like many other countries now.  Most business is shut down, and people are getting very sick at alarming rates.  My mother just became ill, but it isn't serious so far.  I hope it isn't the virus, but unless there are very specific symptoms they will not give out the test.

Hi,

yeah I am fine and my Sister too, was just normal stuff. And my Stuff... was just a shit hell.

Germany did just stopped the lockings, so all are running around crazy again (I assume enough idiots rush instant to Citys like hamburg to hug together...).

And yeah Like I said, all the good Model creators dont use daz3d, even if it is free ;(

I dont have the time for tons of rearrangement, thats why I try to Outsource it already.

I spent sooo much time into my Scenes, with all the details and that takes so much time, that I prefer to buy compatible Products.

Yeah USA is atm absolute crazy... I also saw Protest people who cry around and want theyre "Freedom" back... sadly the USA have a lot idiots <_< Its a crazy nation, but I mean... they have Trump haha...

(I hope youre not a Trump Fanboy^^, he is really not the smartest man )

It's really bad over here as you mentioned.  I have family and friends in the medical field, and they are seeing first hand the deaths and sickness this is causing in hospitals, so I find it very hard to believe anyone would protest and violate the stay-in-place orders.  We already have more deaths from Covid19 here in the US than anywhere else in the world right now, so it makes no sense to me.  My mother is still with a fever but we aren't sure what could be causing it.  I just hope it doesn't get worse because hospital visits right now are a very high-risk factor and no one should go unless it is very dire.  In my area, we are not allowed in public places, like the grocery stores, without a mask and so far everyone seems to be ok with that as we should be.

Thank you so much, Denyse.  As always, I am truly grateful for your comments and kindness.  You are a very special person.  I hope you and your family (especially your son) remain safe and in good health through these troubling times.  Thank you again for reaching out.  Yes, this particular asset isn't for everyone.  In fact, I don't think many people would even understand the use of it unless they were using Zbrush.  VDM stands for Vector Displacement Mesh.  While most 3d software is capable of using "displacement maps" or textures, typically those types of displacements are only 2-dimensional.  Meaning, the mesh is only displaced on two axis depending on the mapping, just like a bump map except it is actually pushing or pulling on the polygons of the model.  Some software packages, like Zbrush, allow 3-dimensional displacement, where through the use of specialized data textures the model can be displaced in more than 2 axis.  This is known as a Vector displacement.  Blender has a Vector Displacement node, which can also use Vector Displacement maps.  It will only work with Cycles rendering though.  Anyway, Zbrush can create these type of Vector maps itself and actually use them in a brush to sculpt shapes on any surface.  It's a very quick and efficient way to make large changes to a model that would otherwise require a lot of hand sculpting.  So I've started using Vector Displacement in the creation of my own models and figured I'd share some of the brushes I made along the way.  Unfortunately, as you know, in this current economic climate it's difficult to offer many things for free.  I will still create freebies, but this type of thing is just a little too time consuming for me to give away at this time.  Hopefully, someone will find it useful in their own projects though.  Especially character artists.  The results can be used on commercial models.

My sincerest pleasure to comment and fave everything you post my dear friend John even if it is not something I can use others will and for me it is so important that you focus on selling your work and earning a living especially now when our economy is so low while "staying safe at home. " as much as you possible can. My son is doing well physically but he is a teacher so cannot work except online and where he is there are very limited ways to do that and the income is very low so he is doing his best to remain "safe at home ". Fortunately in Asia the cost of living is much lower so the money he is getting from school is enough to pay his bills but nothing much else. And this too shall pass they say. My entire family included extended here in the States are all O.K. I look forward to seeing more of your work when you have time to post. Be blessed, be safe, be well and know that you and your loved ones are always in my thoughts and prayers especially now.
