Description Hrmm, I was pretty excited when I started this one, but then something went wrong with it for me. But I finished nonetheless and here she is.

The butterfly portal was a source of serious stress through this. I could not find this brush for the life of me, and ended up heisting a layer from the psd of another piece I had been working on, just to complete this one. So if you know who did it or what it is called, I would greatly appreciate it!

wow- really good composition! The figure and the lower part of the peice (the dark part) are perfect- literally couldn't be better. The butterfly is a little too far down, I think, it doesn't feel balanced, but this is still a stunning peice of work. A favorite for sure ^.~

Wow! Thanks! *stares at it* I see what you mean by the butterfly. I had so many issues with this piece while I was doing it. In the end I was happy with it simply because it made me feel like I'm making some progress. Thanks so much for your comment, it means alot to me!

Thanks! This is where I usually point out I think most of it is crap, but I've gotten over that phase. *nods* I've been picking up new tips and tricks so I can continue on my journey of improvement. Lately I seem more distracted by poetry than anything else.

this is a wonderful melding of different elements, i must say. great blending techniques are something that always impresses me, since it is something i struggle with (im impatient).. from an outside perspective, it is wonderful. buti also know that, especially with pieces that have given you trouble, as an artist you tend to see your mistakes rather than triumphs.

I really enjoy this piece. The only thing I would change is to change the perpective of the butterfly to a profile shot, and have it seem to be flying away from the girl. Know what I mean?

really a stunning and magical piece hun!! love the portal . . that just looks amazing. and flawless!! a really powerful piece, no matter how it came to be. sometimes, accidents are the best thing that can happen . . . and distractions often lead us down new roads we would otherwise have missed.

I think this is absolutely beautiful dear. The portal is so welcoming to me as I love butterflies so much. The whole dreamy ambiance makes this work for me in a huge way. I'm like the other viewer who said she wished she could turn out something like this when the work goes "wrong" lol So do I!! My recycle bin would be thankful!

This is beautiful! Magical and whimsical. I don't know what you had in mind initially but I think this turned out great. I can relate, I have so many unfinished pieces because I start and something goes wrong, or I draw a blank...I wish I could produce results like this when my work goes "wrong".
