this is the prize for who got third in my "original pokemon contest"now remember when i said "in my style, it could lead to me doing a detailed drawing?" well this is a prime example... 3rd place ended up possibly being my best drawing >.>
now i know he runs around to build electricity, but i liked the idea of him sapping an electrical tower thing and ripping it apart... i like it!
i hope it's right, since i drew the tower without reference, and i also made a few somewhat small design changes, as per my suggestions... it's hard to see what i did with the tail, so i drew this to show it [link] i made alternating spikes to reference a lightning bolt shape, without making a lightning bolt

What type of pen do you use for inking? It looks very crisp and I'm interested

For this one... it was either a Staedtler ink pen, or a micron. I have no recollection though. Just anything thin tipped, though I recommend a felt tip, as they have a little 'give' to them, so they react better with curves and don't wiggle as much. Basically more control. Plus they convey variance in pressure. Ball-point's not so much, like... ball-point marker pens.
As you can see I just uploaded drawings done with plain ball-point school pens... and they are magical in the right circumstance.

I'll respond to that with a statement and a response. Practice.
Don't be jealous, though I supposed I've got a natural inclination, there's no reason you can't get to a level you're comfortable with if you apply the effort.
Also that's how I got to where I am now. Also I had the benefit of time, and finding drawing to be fun at an early age... it may be harder to develop at an older age, but I'd still suggest draw things that are hard, get frustrated, because you'll never go anywhere when you're complacent.

thats why i like it... i don't want pokemon to just be colorful corruptions of the animal kingdom... it's not my favorite, but that's what i liked about the first gen
