It's finished!Or well, it has been for a while. But I havn't been bothered to take a picture yet.
This is the finished top piece for my new armor anyway.
To be worn with the shoulderguard and the pouch I posted before. With this I'm going to make a part to put over my pants aswell. So the thing is far from done, I guess.

wow, I would love to have such a thing... I wish I was handy with needle and thread... I cannot even make a cloak, not spoken of something like this!

Sure you can make a cloak! Though, well, I'm not very good with cloaks either. Mostly because sewing machines seem to have serious issues with me. They just don't really like me, I believe.
I mostly do wear a shirt under it. But for the picture I wanted to lay the focus on merely this thing. Sometimes I do wear it without a shirt but that'd be in summer if the weather is good for it.

Imprints on this? There's not really imprints on this thing. It's just leather and a shit load of leather lace. It probably has more leather lace than actual leather in it.
I, in fact, don't even know what got me into making this. This is probably one of the most time-consuming and tiring things I've ever made. Then again, it's so sturdy that I could have it driven over by a tank multiple times and still be able to use it, though. So that's good.

It has a smooth inside. I've lined it with suede. (Gevoerd, dus.) En met 'lace' bedoel ik de veters die door de gaatjes geregen worden als sluiting.
So it's comfortable.

Though you really could! I know at least a few clubs
where you could wear such clothes (well, if you are in
ebm, indstrial and goth-rock).
In fact I think of making myself some post-apocaliptic
clothes for LARP and will then try them on in a club.

Meaning to do this armor with multiple parts.
So this is the top part, you'll have a part to cover the pants. And you'll have a wide belly-part to cover that region.
Being three parted, and even more parts if you include the shoulderpad and the still-to-come bracers and such, you can have a nice variety of equipment. ^^
That's the philosophy anyway. You can indeed wear chainmail underneath it as I had planned to be one of the varieties.
Or, of course, you could also wear it like this. Which is indeed not very practical and very fantasy-like.
Still trying to decide which parts to wear for that new character.
