Description A sort of crossover between Warhammer 40000 and Soviet posters. The Emperor of Mankind and Roboute Guilliman instead of Lenin, Marx and Engels.

Oh, you understand the point!
But I have some argumentation for my choise. Corax is revolutionist and for me he is associated whith early Soviet art -- avangard, suprematism, futurism, etc. Something from 1920-th. Socrealism is more "classic", and it belongs to later Stalin's epoch 1940th-1950th, when USSR become less "revolutionary", more "imperial". This not suits Corax, but suits Guilliman very well.

Took a look at paintings from that era they weren't too interested in portraits of specific people were they?

Yes, I've noted the same thing. There were some portraits, but cults of heroes wasn't a popular theme. Artists focused themselves on common people. Sometimes faceless figures (Malevich), sometimes mosaic of heads and faces (Filonov)
