Description
As before, some of the Companions (the ones that aren't owls) were inked and/or coloured by ~torrent ! More shop stuff for Gaia, 'cause they're fun to draw. That scar-eyed fellow up there is the Brigadier, my big grumpy old owl boy.Standard Disclaimer: These guys still don't have anything to do with Ga'Hoole!

Cool designs! You can sort of get an idea of their personalities by looking at them. And weird thing, my stomach just growled like an owl's hoot and I thought you had somehow made it so that people who clicked on this heard an owl noise. o_O

side note: I see all your drawings as having such a life in their own. Ga hool, or whatever that is (I never read it.), is probably as annoying as every person who ever draws an otter and gets told "that looks like it's from Redwall!"
We were talking about iconic imagery in my digital illustration class today, and about how annoying it is that there are just certain concepts that irregardless, get associated with something. it's just annoying.
Sadly, when people decide that an entire SPECIES is © some children's author... man, must be annoying :/
However, while I get reminded of things when seeing your stuff, might make you happy that I don't think of it as fanart. It looks like you're developing your own world with your characters. I like that. Might be nice to see some other things, too, like habitat, or anything you can make to truly make YOUR creations stand out as having their own little niche

--Thank you. You have no idea how much it means to hear that. I'm trying to work on a comic-- most of the 'setting' details exist, but not in illustrative form. They're all written down in the RP guidelines of the world.
If I can get even a little bit of 'graphic novel' out of this, I'd be happy. To answer the question you asked in another comment, Noctua is a guided RP world with a continually developing world and plot. It's currently on Gaia, but there's enough info there that we're starting a wiki in a bit.

It's good to have your settings written down at least. too often, I just leave things stuck in my head. Potentially problematic
Keep up the artwork, though. It's nice to see you update, and just hope that you'll capture something in your art that makes people try not to associate it. As I said, so much harder when people assume a species is copyright someone. Probably will just be that thorn in the side you deal with.

Is there a species for that little fellow on the very bottom right? He's deliciously colorful, and full of spunk! I'd be thrilled to bits to find out it's a real bird species, it's so pretty. I have gryphon ideas flying around in my head already!
Oh, and, PS, you need to reply to your mail, missy. I even sent you a note a few months ago. A 'No' is completely fine, it really is, but I don't like hanging for so long very much. 1. The little bird? His body and black markings is 'generic songbird', but the colouration is based on a male blackburnian warbler. They're absolutely beautiful little birds.
2. It will have to wait until the next moult. I wasn't intentionally avoiding you, but your request is a very low priority for me at the moment, especially with all of the bird health concerns our centre has faced recently. If you are still interested, note me in late spring and I'll see what I can do.
