Wow, this is very nice. I really like the stark contrast in the shading. I think your small straight lines add a lot to the 3d-ness of the work. The face in the sword just makes me squee!
However, the one (and only) thing that bugs me is Drift's nearest eye. I don't know, I like it, it makes him look cute, but the rest of the picture doesn't fit its...length...I would have to say.
