Description
Toothless was gone. The moment Hiccup had attached the new tail Toothless took off straight away. All though Hiccup felt happy that he had been able to help his friend...he could not escape the anguish with in.

Hiccup stood frozen with his hand on the handle to the front door. Stoic has just called him outside to help repair the damage to the roof. With all his might.....Hiccup tried to put on a brave face. He did not want his father to see....that his heart was aching for his best friend....

"I miss Toothless SO MUCH...." Hiccup thought aloud.
"Can't....let...dad...see me cry...."

Hiccup then opened the front door and headed outside. As he rounded the corner, his throat began to burn with tears.

Suddenly Hiccup slipped on a patch of ice. Landing forcefully on his back, Hiccup moaned frustratedly as the pain set in. He could feel himself loosing ground as his eyes brimmed with tears

"Are you all right!?" Stoic called down to Hiccup.

Standing up, Hiccup fought to regain his composure. Breathing loudly, he looked down at his feet

Stoic quickly climbed down the ladder, and made his way over to Hiccup.

"Hiccup....?" Stoic asked.

Hiccup looked up, and met his fathers gaze.

Stoic watched as Hiccup tried to force a smile across his face. Hiccup frowned, as the tears brimmed over.

"Son?" Stoic asked, tenderly.
"It hurts...." HIccup stammered.
"Where does it hurt.....That was a pretty nasty fall you took there..." Stoic responded.

"No..." Hiccup mumbled, shaking his head.
Placing his hand at his heart, a single sob arose. His shoulders shook as the weight of his broken heart pressed down mightily. Holding his breath, Hiccup tried to quell the sadness that threatened to over take him.

Panic set in as Stoic realized this was the first time Hiccup had ever shown his melancholy side to him.

"Oh son...What is it...?" Stoic asked.
"I...I..." Hiccup stammered.
"I miss 'em so badly....I feel like... I can't breathe!"

Reaching out, Stoic pulled Hiccup into a tight embrace.

"He'll be back Hiccup...." Stoic stated.
"Just wait... Couple days from now Toothless will be on top of that roof....And everything will go back to normal."

At the mention of Toothless's name, Hiccup cried even harder.

Parting their embrace, Stoic looked upon his son.

"It's ok son..." Stoic soothed.
"You gave Toothless the second best gift you could ever have given him..."
"I did?" Hiccup asked, sniffing loudly.
"Mmm-hmmm" Stoic answered, nodding.
"Wait...Whah...Second best gift....?" Hiccup asked.
"What's the first?"
"Your friendship!!!!" Stoic replied with a glint in his eye!
