Based on some subtle details I think the piece was originally meant to show Supergirl in the Fortress of Solitude, but I thought showing her overwhelmed and defeated on a pile of kryptonite would be much more exciting. How did she find herself in such a situation, and more importantly, how will she ever get out?
In addition to the kryptonite, I also I expanded upon the original line art by adding a few details of my own, including: increased muscle tone, sweat, rolled back eyes, and a trickle of blood coming from her lips.
The pose in this piece is very similar to another piece I colored, also drawn by Diego Bernard. www.deviantart.com/lyxella/art… I guess he's just a pro at this pose. No complaints here!
