As a person, Elios separates himself from his belief as a man of religion. He is a supportive and realistic individual, always looking for the most logical solutions despite others thinking he believes in miracles. He doesn't fit the stereotype of a priest, and actually has a rather dark sense of humor. He has faith, but is pretty quick to denounce it when it doesn't fit the setting or situation. Elios is always independent, not wanting to trouble others or get attached to them. He quickly adapts to the changes in his environments rather quickly, seeing as he is always on the move. Elios loves to try new things and destinations, with an overflowing confidence that he'll always be alright and that he can be of help to others whether or not they believe in his abilities.

Beneath that, he is a resentful and devious young man. Not exactly having the best life to begin with, he's grown to hate and envy others with a more fortunate background and life. He is easily bored, but doesn't show it. He is known to be sympathetic and empathetic towards others, but general company for light chatter often leaves him bored if they do not contribute at all to the conversation. He prefers the spicier side of things, the deep dark secrets that he listens to on a daily basis. Elios is surprisingly good at keeping his mouth shut when it comes to the secrets of others and would only turn it against them if they somehow wronged him badly. He has tried to be a well mannered person while representing the temple he came from, but found it to be too much of a hassle to keep up a holy image. He's much better being down to earth or even being downright rude and brutally honest to others, especially those who won't wake up and face their realities. Elios can be quite picky, especially with what kind of company he keeps, and despite being a priest, is quite unforgiving to those who cross him. Being a healer, he does value the lives of others

Elios would not hesitate to leave someone for dead if he believes they don't value his life as much as he does theirs. Equal trade, after all, is the way to go.

History:

TL,DR : Mom and dad too young to have a baby, leaves Elios to die. And old woman with a past criminal record took him in before he kicks the bucket and only asks for shelter instead of completely abandoning him at a temple to the north of Libetellus. Elios begs to stay at the temple cause he deosn't want to get kicked out all alone when she passes away. Becomes priest eventually. He trains heals and faith for 11 years. Newly elected head priest is corrupt and dishonest, Elios leaves the temple and becomes a nomadic priest and does heals for money.

It might be cold and unforgiving, especially in the winter, but what little warmth and shelter the inhabitants have there, they are always thankful about. Elios doesn't really want to recall how or why he came to live in the temple. His parents were way too young to have a child, and to avoid a harsh judgement from their family and friends they were about to abandon him and leave him to die somewhere. There was a witness however, and said witness begged them to reconsider, but they wouldn't. The stranger took him in, but realizing her own situation and old age, decide to take the baby Elios to the northern temple and asked if he could be housed there. She didn't wish to abandon the child, though, but had no house of her own. The amount of abandoned children in temples weren't a new thing to begin with and of course the people there refused, but instead of troubling the priests and clerics stationed there when supplies are limited, she would only ask the child be given proper shelter and would take care of the rest, and a compromise was made. When asked, she didn't know why she wanted to help out or go out of her way to raise the child when simply leaving him to die would have made her life much easier.

A few weeks later, she and the baby disappeared from the temple and is said to have moved from place to place over the years, with rumors going around of that same old woman only asking for shelter for her child and nothing else. Unfortunately, she was at her limit and passed away when Elios was 9. Before her death, the two returned to the very first temple he was sheltered in. There, she told Elios who she actually was before passing away. He was young but he understood that she was a criminal and saw taking care of Elios and keeping him alive during her final years as a way to repent. Not wanting to be kicked out of the temple to wander alone, Elios begged to stay and would even adopt the beliefs and pay with his life to be of service to the gods. He made it very clear that he wasn't going to be like other abandoned kids and would do the same thing his adoptive mother did, find his own supplies and not rely on the temple. He learned healing arts, just like most of the clerics and priests do, and thankfully, he absorbed the knowledge without much difficulty and became quite skilled at it.

From there, he lived a difficult life. Some eventually took pity on him and offered to give him support but he declined. He understood the hardships that everyone had to go through, that it can't be helped if they can't afford to care about others. At first he saw the job of a priest and living off his own efforts as him not having a choice due to life conditions, but soon took a liking to it. He wasn't going to abandon his humanity for the sake of believing in gods and miracles and he believed that it's what sets him apart from the other priests in the temple. When one priest became the head of the temple when he just turned 19, they started taking bribes and giving people false miracles for money. At first, Elios went along with it, just to watch the downward spiral. But then he became sick of the greed and asked to become a nomadic priest. They let him go, one less mouth to feed, they thought. And off he went.

At the present time, it's been 10 years since he first departed from the temple, he's seen a lot and worked with others (mostly mercenaries) for quick bucks. Risked his lives a couple of times in some crazy situations, and saved some lives with good heals. All around, he doesn't want to look back or return to the temple, nor does he know what became of it since he left. All he knows is that he won't trade his stories and adventures for anything less.
