Description Another piece for an Illustration of the Week challenge on conceptart.org. Task was to illustrate a scene from the 12th chapter of "The Fellowship of the Ring".
I started this image today and the challenge ended today...so its still a bit unfinished in parts and kind of rough because i ran out of time...maybe i ll spend some more time with it some day but for now i am fine with it

Lovely scene, nice contrast between light and dark horses.Β  And I am so happy to see a scene where it is Frodo and Asfaloth instead of Arwen.Β  I liked the movie but I still think this scene was Frodo's scene.Β

Very nice,... perhaps give the horse nearest to the left a glowing eye,. and the other horse come to think of it. Great piece. Nice.

Thanks!! You might be right, in the progress the Nazguls horse had a slightly red glowing eye but i decided against it. But maybe it ll be a nice extra touch to it

At first, I thought the person riding the horse was Arwen, but then I saw it looked like a guy, and I thought of th books. Definitely an epic picture.

Right, in the books its just Frodo riding on Glorfindels horse if i remember it right, Arwen doesnt apear in that scene in the books
