the colour is lovely - I think the odd exposed pieces of masonry and detail are contrived - was the building in too bad condition to leave completely bare?

i'm afraid the color doesn't fit the surroundings too well... but actually i like the exposed parts of old masonry. it was in a bad condition, indeed, and i think they also wanted to create a bold contrast of old/new... (must get some more information

well, talking about the color. mmmmhh. long time a go a friend at university had a ford 17m of this color. i always called it "schlΓΌpferfarben"

while rebuilding the downtown here (they had to restart from zero, after passing the bulldozers, they used pastel tones of yellow and pink, there were a lot of talking too, fighting and heated discussions, they calmed down a little when they saw images how the original building where those exact tones.
