Wow! The lighting and the resulting atmosphere you created is simply outstanding. I also really do like the mixture of classic and sci-fi architecture in the background. Looks like a true masterpiece to me!

Fort Nocturne

Legendary Land

Demons, devils, imps, specters, shades, and zombies you control get +0/+2 for each swamp you control.

P.S. - seeing the other "fortresses" in the background just popped this phrase in my head "Oh look a suburban area...for evil"

Sorry, weird mind.

This is absolutely perfect man, I can't fault it for anything. The concept is awesome, it's like the industrial revolution in some mystical mountainous place, and the lighting captures all of the atmosphere of Isenguard from LotR. Seriously good job!

Wow.
This image is just so incredibly full of moody pathos, grim pressure and a sense of unremitting toil it makes me wish I could write the thousand words that go with the picture.

How long does something like this take you? I'm fairly new to the scene of digital media, and creating something as amazing as this is but a mere dream to me.

Is there particular development stages to creating something like this, perhaps some useful techniques you could share?

I'm looking to gain as much insight as possible, becoming a talented artist has always been an aspiration of mine; artwork like this drives my forward.

After I had a sketch I like it took me few days evenings to finalize it. The process always starts for me with a lot of sketches, finding references/inspiration and then simply rendering. For training and practise I recommend life drawing and ovarall drawing as much as you can. You might fing more info and more sketches on my blog : [link]

How do you learn to create art like this? I'm looking at your blog, and even your quick sketches are just amazing.. I know practice is one thing, but learning lightning and getting everything accurate, is there a "best way" to learn that sort of thing?

My main issue with art is, well trying to get things to look accurate, knowing exactly where light should go, and it's intensity etc.. Anything you could suggest?

P.S - The work on the snow environments I love :3
