Description Hailing from Citadel Security's Investigation and Network Divisions respectively, asari Lorica Da'Nante and human Milo Santana were recruited from among C-Sec's most promising young officers into the new Joint Security Task Force. Expert data analysts, communications and hacking specialists, the duo work under the quarian section lead Lina. While Milo is affable and good-natured, Lorica can be seen as abrasive and stuck-up, and makes no secret of her objections to working under a quarian. While Milo seems able to bring out the best in the asari, it remains to be seen whether their very public relationship will prove a benefit or a liability to the JSTF team as their mission goes on.

This is a WIP shot of a small section of a grand composition which will eventually be the cover art for my Mass Effect novel, Interceptor. The story is an original espionage thriller about a young turian C-Sec officer drawn into a galaxywide conspiracy set shortly before the first game. If you're interested, you can view it here: www.fanfiction.net/s/6928581/1…

I wanted very much to give these two looks that show off the obvious parts of their personality without descending into caricature. I think Lorica in particular sums up the sentiment of "she'd be pretty if she didn't look like she had a permanent chip on her shoulder".

While I feel I'm getting much more comfortable with textures and shading, I'm often finding myself compensating for laziness in my line work. I suppose it's not too big a deal considering the relative smallness of this section in the overall composition, but it's probably not a good habit either, I dunno.
