I actually finished something ahead of schedule!
I posted a WIP of this piece a while back, and I am quite proud of the finished results. I even picked up that Kingdom Hearts HD game for my PS3 in celebration. Ah, nothing like a bit of gaming in the afternoon to get you nostalgic about the old days, huh? Course, while playing the game I was also rather rudely reminded of how much of a big "D-Bag" Riku was! Sorry to all the Riku fans out there, but I've always disliked him, up until the ending of Kingdom Hearts 2 where he apologized to Sora and said the best thing about being him was, "having Sora for a friend"....
Anyway! This piece was all hand drawn and inked on an 11x14 Bristol paper using a standard no.2 pencil and a couple of black Prismacolor pens and a black Sharpie. Then captured on my camera phone (several times until I was satisfied with the quality) and cropped around the edges.

I consider myself to be better at lineart than i am at coloring, so unfortunately I don't think I'll be adding color to this particular piece... Though I have given permission to two other commenters that asked to color it.

lol, Believe me when I say I spent at least a half an hour sitting in front of the biggest window in my house on a sunny afternoon taking picture after picture on my phone trying to get the look and quality just right!

I decided to turn this artwork into a 3 part series (Roxas and Namine being the next piece), and because time is my worst enemy, I opted to leave it black and white to make the process of drawing 3 of these faster. I'll be debating whether or not to add color once I've finished all 3 pieces. Plus, on a side note, TBH I am not very good with color most days... cuz I'm sorta lazy when it comes down to it!

Very few can PERFECTLY capture the Kingdom Hearts art style, and you're the one who's doing the best job. Your rendition is the closest.

And yes, I don't exactly have a pinpoint estimate of how long it took to do everything, but it took at least a few hours over several days to just draw out in pencil, conceptualizing the piece. Inking was less time consuming, but still took a few hours of my days.

I loved it in pencil, and now love it even more in ink!Β Idk if you were aiming for it, but the lighting fades to shade the lower you look at the photo, which is flipping awesome!Β Especially since it fits right into the title of "Balance"!Β

Haha, actually the gradual shading of the lighting was a complete fluke! See I took the picture from my phone near an open window to try and brighten up everything without using a flash. It looked good but my camera phone doesn't capture lighting too well, and the end result is what you see there... (sigh) At least you think it looks neat!
Lol, the title "Balance" didn't click until my brother saw the drawing and said it "had a nice balance". The name stuck.
