Aah, this is overdue, so very overdue...And it's been ages since I drew those two properly, too. It's almost painful how long it's been haha (no, all my silly little sketches don't count).
Someone should smack me for the title haha.
I don't quite like how Juudai's body turned out, and I get a feeling that I gave him a yaoihand but... aah I dunno anymore, when I tried to measure him out, everything seemed to be alright so.... ;;
Anyway, here you guys go, my little contribution to one of my oldest fandoms, courtesy of one of my longest-time watchers ever, , who commissioned me to do this piece ♥

Because honestly I'm still not sure what the hell was I thinking calling it that XD I think it was because of my friend commenting on how Kuriboh looks edible in the picture pfff and then there's the fact that a lot of the Japanese fandom seemed to take to calling Juudai chocolate-orange because of his hair idek

Really? I'm glad then skfbjakd it's been seriously way too long since I drew them properly. Juudai's hair is easy so long as it's only a sketch, but colouring it while trying for it to make sense is just.. ; A ;

Hahaha, I sometimes really wonder if I deserve such a praise ; v ; I often have trouble gauging how well I portray characters, so it's a real relief to hear something like that... skjfbkd ♥
The hair was actually surprisingly hard to get right at first. I'm not sure if it showed but I had trouble deciding how the shadows and highlights should be laid out about it OTL Juudai's hair has always been somehow really hard for me to draw/colour...
Hehehe Haou's expression is probably something I enjoy about this piece the most. I really like the idea of the child from his human days still being somewhere in what he is now, and the thought that perhaps through his ruthlessly pragmatic, emotionless state emotions sometimes shine through, leaving him just a bit puzzled at what's going on with him... the thought is just kinda really adorable to me, IDEK XDDD
I'm really glad I managed to not disappoint you with this ; v ; ♥ And from my side, too, thank you so much for even ordering this piece...! It was the excuse I probably needed to draw the characters again - Bakura following suit as you probably noticed XD Might stay on the phase for a while more. I miss some of my old OTPs from the fandom a bit too so... >v>

i think one of the most fun things about haou is when something like emotion shows through and you can almost see the human in him x3 it's because its so rare that it's so precious and i like to think that judai can bring out that part of him~~ ^.^
oh gosh you could never disappoint me if anything you exceeded my expectations!!

We're on the same wavelength in that aspect, then. At least as far as canon points go, he miiight be just the only person able to do it, even if just because he's the only one who ever actually TALKED to Haou properly... well okay so maybe Jim might have the potential, too. Eventually.

OR 5Ds for that matter orz dunno they just don't really draw me in as much as the first two series did ;; Though I do keep craving to rewatch all the old episodes, at least the favourite ones - I gotta admit when I'm upset I watch the eps with Haou's awakening hahaha for some reason the whole scene with Juudai going all "Even though if I beat it, and beat it and beat it, my rage will not subside!" and sdfkjba Haouuuu sob okay so maybe I just really like Haou's eyes okok skjbkasd
