On August 31, 2007: Hatsune Miku was released for the Vocaloid V2 Engine.

Here we have Miku surrounded by computerized pixel things, three-dimensional multicolored cubes, and long music staffs with music notes in many colors. Two cubes have writing on them. On the cube near Miku's head has "CV-01" on its surface. "CV-01" was Hatsune Miku's development codename which meant "Character Voice 01". On the same cube's faces is Hatsune Miku's name written in Simplified Chinese which is "Chūyīn Wèilái" (初音未来). On the top surface of the cube on Miku's left hand is the Japanese text for "VOCALOID" which is "Bōkaroido" (ボーカロイド). On the other sides of the cube, is Hatsune Miku's name written in Katakana which is "初音ミク". Her name means "The First Sound From The Future".
