I like this work a lot Daniel. The sunlight in the field and the shadows across the road are exciting to me. I can feel the warmth of the sun that day, the atmosphere is nice. Good work.

Thanks Daniel. This was painted in a workshop I took with an established local artist. I learned a lot about composition & colour. Being self-taught I figured I could really use some outside help!

other artists, i learnt like that, it was important to me to draw
and paint with a lot of friends in the same room when i was in an art school.
It's the period when i discovered and learnt a lot of things, now
i always learn because i live with my art and i can often paint.

Beatiful, the colours seem to vibrate and I can just imagine feeling the warmth of the sun on my back while a breeze is blowing through my hair and makes the clouds shift... This is really my idea of a refined piece of art

interesting pallet nice light did you cut in the sky after you painted the trees? nice use of umber in your under painting give some nice punch or is that added on top?so hard to tell on a computer screen

Thanks for your comments Paul. You're right: the sky was painted after the trees. I work from dark to light so the trees were the first thing to be painted. The canvas is prepared with burnt umber acrylic.

your welcome. i like your looseness. i would like to loosen up a bit but i'm just a tight painter. i normally do figurative and work in the Flemish style not conducive to impressionism. but iv only been painting for 2 years have a long way to go! i like how you have really developed your sens of light and dark. your contrast are intense. its a theme in my work too as i'm a bit of a Caravaggio freak
