Skeggas on Ice - Abraham Lake Edition
Horse: AA Moonbean
Rider: Kyle Arthur
Class: Speed
Kyle had a hard job of choosing only one of her zles mares to attend the skeggas training event with. She would bring all 4 of her mares, since the training was held so close to home, but she really wanted to focus on just one horse. Not her, nor any of her horses ever participated in a skeggas training, and it’s not something she would train at home - skeggas was known to her as a very pleasant gait her mares chose to do when trail riding. She lastly decided that Bini is probably the safest choice for a fun time, because she’s just so easygoing and drama free. Mostly.
Kyle got her hands on some gorgeous traditional wear. She really wanted her experience among the Zlesdin community to be tradition genuine, from hooves to ears.
And because drama never sleeps when AA people are around, of course she had to have another cup of coffee and of course she slipped, and of course the coffee was now covering her coat insted of the inside of the cup. Looking like this and panicking, because the stain wouldn’t come off, she eventually left the venue to check if she had any spare clothes in the truck. And of course what was the only thing she could find? The one piece of clothing stashed behind the clutter of what her backseats are. Gaby’s puffy jacket! She couldn’t help but laugh.
When she and Bini entered the icy “arena” and had a bit of a warm up, Kyle decided to just let the mare run on her own, knowing she’ll eventually change the fast trot into skeggas. That was pretty much how she usually asked for the gait. The mare was flying in an extended trot and Kyle tried to help her by loosening the reins a bit to give her more freedom. The mare got the hint and jumped into skeggas, but lost the control of her feeties while trying to accomplish the change. She slipped and quite panickly tried to pick herself up, but her little hooves were not cooperating and as she saved one leg, the other one slipped. Kyle tried to follow the movements from below by quite fantastically sitting through it all. At one moment the mare was almost sitting down and people who watched it happen have wondered how it’s even possible for a horse’s leg to be in that position. In the end Bini picked herself up and Kyle smiled and waved to the crowd letting them know they’re okay. Her face was red as a crab, telling everyone she’s embarassed. At least both she and Vadim had an embarassing story to bring back to Arthur Acres.
