Yeah I'm a sucker for vivid colours too 
Consider using flash equipment if your school will allow it, it just freezes everything instead of you/model focusing on being completely still or having to sacrifice depth of field. A lot of your work seems to be shot with strobes, floods or arris which is great except for the longer shutter speeds required. In a way I find modelling lights more flexible.
I would have liked a 'cleaner imageβ; things like the door nob and shadowed area at the bottom are unwanted distractions in my opinion. If you wanted that angle, you could have maybe got an assistant to tilt the door at an angle.

well the thing is this is the modelling light fora a flash head, the flash blows out the fairy lights, they can't be seen and it looks shit.
im good at sitting still and i likethe long shutters and the aperture is on its lowest, and from how close i am to the b/g doesn't do the dof much good effect.
well when it is 10.30 at night, one shit tripod, there really isn't any "assistants" available.
i don't want all my images to be "clean" other wise i may as well move into a studio. this is abotu me and my atmosphere and my atmosphere invovlves knobs... door knobs.

The colours all flow nicely in this photo. As with the other, interesting use of lighting... it's there, it adds to the image, but it's not distracting.
