Wow!

Awesome Ma'am, the focus is lovely and the grain really makes this pic! Good work!

Cheers, Cliff.

Good start on controlling your depth-of-field!

Closing your aperture down another stop would have allowed you to to keep all of the rope from the front of the knot to the far side of the wrists in sharp focus, while still leaving the face blurry.

This is much easier to do if you are the photographer and someone else is the model. Finely controlling narrow depths-of-field with yourself as both photographer and model becomes an excercise in guess-timation and luck. Or it becomes a tedious exercise in measurements and out-of-the-image-frame guides.

This is a great beginnig, Jess! Get in there and push it to it's limits!

Fantastic. I love the way you use the film's grain to play up the rough texture of the ropes -- one can almost feel them digging into skin. The DOF is wonderful too, rendering the subject totally anonymous, completely submerged in the moment of submission.

The poetry is perfect. What I wouldn't give to have you write to my images for my book project!

I definitely want you for the book project...but there is nothing "little" about your poetry...absolutely nothing!
