I`ve never drew monster before and just wanted to give it a tr))I`m sooooooooo not good at BG but thought that i have to make this work as good as I could possibly do at my present level. It was really interesting and I think since now I will be less scared to draw BG!

Ooh, everything looks like pain. In a good way.
For your first monster with a background - it's a really good one. I like the design (esp his true eye) and the sharpness of lines. The color palette is neat as well.
Only problem - the creature's head appears too small and far away from the body (even with the spike in his neck). I don't know if you intend it to be so.
