Description Charlie Bucket's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bucket (both played by Noah Taylor and Helena Bonham Carter), from the 2005/Burton version of the movie.

I know; Mr. Bucket in this pic looks like Robert or Prince Eric from their Disney movies. But to assure that, his feature, including his hair, was based on Noah Taylor himself. Well, speaking of his hair... yeah, it was probably based on the fanfic that I read. Don't know, just made his hair wavy.

As for Charlie's mother, yes she almost looks like Emily, but loosely based on the actress herself. Though, the curly hair was the tricky part from the movie, even though I did looked up.

Anyway, enjoy.

They really do look lovely. Charlie's dad looks handsome, and Charlie's mother looks lovely, too. Now that you mentioned it, she did almost look like Emily, but at the same time, her appearance reminded me of Victoria.

Thanks.

True, she does a little bit look like Victoria because of similar brown hair color, even though she also looks like Emily because of the actress, Helena Bonham Carter.Β

You're welcome.

Indeed she does. I'm not sure if you know this, but according to the art/making of book, Tim Burton thought of casting Helena Bonham Carter as Victoria as a contrast to the exotic Emily, upon designing her so that Victoria could look like Bonham Carter. But Bonham Carter suggested that she can be Emily, given that she had played Victoria type characters before the movie. As a result, Emily was redesigned a bit so that she can look like her voice actress. As for Victoria, she not only looked like Carter, but her voice actress, Emily Watson, as well due to her large expressive eyes.

0_0 OMG, you're so right. And Helena quoted that Tim saw her as Victoria. Even though she was being "Victoria" from live-action in her youth.

Indeed. Bonham Carter did play the "Victoria"-type characters I the past, like in Hamlet with Mel Gibson, and Twelfth Night. She got so tired of playing that ingΓ©nue archetype, that she made change in role when she got the role of Emily.

Huh, I guess it's better for her to try something different. After all, Emily Watson's voice was excellent, after she did the role in "Angela's Ashes."

Yep, and it seems to me that Tim Burton hasn't worked with Watson since "Corpse Bride".

Well, I like to see Watson do her next role in future Burton film very soon.

I love the way you drew these two! I can definitely see the resemblance between the actual characters and the characters that were sort of a loose inspiration for the cartoon-y versions here. Definitely one of my favorites! Amazing work!
