True best friends were so hard to come by and Ali was so grateful to have someone like Janet in her life. The two had been thick as thieves for as long as she could remember, and Janice had stuck by her even back when she was miserable. Ali barely even liked to think about those times anymore. After all, what was the point? All she knew was she was happy now and there's nothing she'd rather do than hang out with her bestie.

That's why moments like this were so special. The two of them had decided to commemorate nearly 10 years of best friendship. They had found an old box of knick knacks from school. Silly things: wristbands, old notes that had been scribbled all over, and a couple of pictures. It had been Janice's idea to dig these things out of the closet, and for the entire morning she and Ali had been giggling like school girls as they reminisced over there teenage years.

"What's this she said?", Pulling an old photo out of the box. It was old, looked like it had been taken at their school but Ali could not place who one of the figures was. Janice looked the same, but there was a boy there with her. His skin tone was the same color as hers. And there was a sadness in his eyes that she almost recognized. He looked a bit familiar. Almost like….

"Oh nothing!" Janice snatched the photo away before Allie could get a closer look. "Probably just some old boyfriend. I hardly remember half the people we went to class with."

"All right. You know you're pretty secretive about your exes. Got a secret or something? Were you some sort of witch in a past life?"

"Something like that.", Janice chuckled, thinking back to Riz, her old mentor and friend. She handed Ali a bowl of popcorn as she picks up the remote. "Now, why don't we see if we can't binge through the next season of Stranger Things?"

"Sounds like a plan!"

Janice breathed the side of relief under her breath. That was a close call. She had to remember next time to check everything before she decided to take a trip down memory lane. After all she didn't want to do anything that might upset her bestie.
