Gone is what we used to be.I regret it now; I finally see....
It's time to set these feelings free
That once almost destroyed me.
You probably don't think it's true,
But, yes, I was in love with you.
I just now realized that we're through,
And I think it's split my heart in two.
Even though I know we're over,
Sometimes I still look over my shoulder,
Hoping it's me that you're looking at, though you're holding her.
I can feel my heart freeze.....It gets colder and colder.
One day soon it will break,
But what difference does it make?
I have realized my mistake,
But, alas, it is too late.
To have ever loved in the first place
Was what brought me to such disgrace.
By staying here, I'm losing face.
By leaving, my hopes go to waste.
I won't try to get back together;
I don't think that would work, not ever,
But losing you's got me feeling rather
Not quite right....under the weather.
I know you may not get this letter;
That's probably for the better,
And while my rhyming scheme's not clever,
I want you to know I'm yours.....forever.

I'd hate to be rude orΒ thatΒ person, but judging from the comments below--I only have one thing to say. Like my good friend told me, this piece is neither beautiful nor worth crying for. It's horrible, ugly, and sad human truths. This poem will never be pretty, because emotions are never beautiful. It's filled with anxiety--as if having to read a presentation in front of a class.Β

The first thing that came to my mind was being rejected by ur crush n he just rubs it in ur face it hurt but I read ur poem n en I realize a lot of things I hasn't n the pain stopped so thank u so much for the poem! :3

It did hurt me when I wrote it. And it still hurts me a little, but the pain has gotten less with each passing year.

*sniff* *sniff* greatly written from the heart. *sniff* yea same thing with mine. I saw him with this popular blonde chick, just because i said i cant go out with him, but it seems the terms and title "girlfriend" and "boyfriend" pleases him. He seems so distant to me now, and i t hurts. Before he asked me out he'd give me hugs, and hi's w/ wide smiles full of joy, i used to blush. but now it seems like he doesn't know me. One day he swept me off my feet and i was like OMG this cant be happening, cuz u kno how u dream of prince charming, but during the school days i saw him sweep tht blonde chick off her feet too. so he avoids me now, and i dont know if it was my fault or his. but im moving on and my heart is healing slowly.
