How: Graphite scan, colored in Corel PhotoPaint

Notes: This is one of my favorite pieces of this gallery. Its coloring was carried out before I had the option of using OpenCanvas, so I was limited to using only the Smudge tools of CorelPaint. While the effect impresses me, the process was so time-consuming that I spent several days working with it. I am much happier with the swiftness of OpenCanvas. However, I don't think I could ever replicate the smooth properties of this image using OpenCanvas.

As for the image itself, I'm quite fond of this adorable character and his little friend. Snails are awesome little creatures - what could be more fun than a sweet little forest boy that befriends them?
