Dante is a man that still sometimes struggles with having pride. Over the years he has been learning slowly but not without a lot of struggle even to this day. His calm and gentle demeanor however is a welcome sight against his partner's abrasive one. And his patience allows him to deal with some of the most unsavory people. Though it is rarely given when his trust is gained he will remain unshakably loyal to that individual.

History
Dante, as only a babe was taken from his mother's nest. Raised by humans, the demon was passed around on the black market to criminals and wealthy families, treated as little more than a trophy, the 'king of beasts' on a leash. Beaten and brainwashed from an early age the demon rarely had other demon interaction and even when they would cross paths they usually weren't in any better situation than himself. The demon, though as he aged he gained the power to be able to escape his masters would never realize he had that power in himself.

When the war began, the demon was rescued however, by the military group known as DAMMED. Since the demon had no idea how to survive on his own, like others they had rescued, the group took him in, and though hesitant to trust his rescuers they held his hand until he was able to give them his. Distrust turned into gratefulness as he began getting his first tastes of freedom, and he sought to help them in any way he could, particularly if it meant helping others like himself.

When it was made known that he could capably bond with the recently turned Fletcher McCoy, the officers were reluctant to allow the two to bond. The demon was insistent though, having faith that he was the only demon that could handle the man's past, horrible personality and feared future betrayal.

The demons rare faith in himself would pay off. As the war would rage on he would become the first demon to truly gain the human's trust. Ninety years later the demon remains loyal to him even though neither has truly forgotten how the other race has affected them in the past.

The griffons that Dante is born from are one breed of many across the world. His particular branch hailing mostly from North Africa, they were once highly respected by humans and demon alike. Over the years their numbers dwindled more as they began to be seen as glorified pets and hunting trophies. Now they are extremely hostile towards other species, the numbers of the particular breed bordering on extinction.
