Considering this is a year old, and I've seen you improve, I'm not sure if there is much constructive to mention that you don't already know. But here goes!
Besides a few stray brush strokes here and there, such as in the parting of the mane and right below the ear, the crispness of the coloured lineart is enviable. The whiskers could have used another pass, however. Both sides have very blunt ends, and those on the proper left side seem very dark and dull considering they are directly exposed to light. However, I don't remember how whiskers were rendered in the film, so I apologize in advance if this was intentional.
The background is a real piece of work. Although it is just healthy to keep a distant, self-critical eye, you should rightly be proud of this. Besides a few disproportionately large blades on the island (or are those intended to be reeds?) the grass in particular is just plain excellent. If I may ask, just how did you do that?
There is a slightly jarring contrast between the soft, dream-like landscape and the crisp character - but on second thought, so is there in the film!
Overall, when it comes to the whole impression and composition, I think the most useful critique might be that sitting down looking closely, it took me quite a while to find what to critique. The different pieces fit together very well, although I have no formal training and little knowledge of composition, so you may want a third opinion just in case.
Well done.

THANK you so much!
I agree, that bright stroke next to the ear shouldn't be there... Also on the chest, there shouldn't be so much bright hair either, as that points away from the light and even bounce lights can't illuminate it THIS much.
For whiskers, in the movie they seem to be really blunt, yes, but about the colouring I believe you are right. It does seem I was making it brighter, but it SURELY could have been at least twice as brigth/shiny.
As for the background, that "large blade" thing was supposed to be like a dry spiky bush? I can't remember their names xD but since there aren't more of those around maybe I should not have put it there. OH I actually found one more, it's basically at the same distance just blurred... next to the tree. So I should have blurred that island-bush-thing out Dx
The grass is actually multi-layer, 1st layer is a rocky surface. Then on top I added large patches of green cover texture (slightly transparent), then on top of that I added light brush strokes to imitate dry clumps of taller grass.
And yep, the contrast is on purpose, to make it look really close to the movie
Composition rules I think I obeyed, as Mufasa's dominant eye, is directly on the cross line of the "Rule of thirds" and so is the sun! (yay me)
I'm so happy you like it!! THANK YOU once again ;v;

Thanks for sharing the technique. I have fairly limited tools to work with and grass in particular takes me forever, so really glad to hear.
You are welcome, and thank you for letting me share in the learning experience.
