Ronan Keating -- Blown AwayUGH. it's crap. i hattteee it.

I only like how the hair came out. That's about it. Oh. And the little red string. My blender KILLED the rest of it. It made it rough and crappy and there's marks all over her face. The purple was terribly HARD because I had to use like 5 colors to make it.
Prismas suck at sharpening.
The background... I was going to make it all cool and stuff and it just looks like total shiz. Don't even comment on that.
*sigh* Well.... I'm dressing as Sheena (Tales of Symphonia) for Connecticon. (CT's anime convention if you didn't know). Just wondering
1: If anyone lives in CT

I really like this one. What is "sub-par" to you is incredible to me... Anyways, really good. I'm no connoiseur, but if you pick a definite direction of light and shade everything accordingly, it should kick ass. I'm not saying it's not way better than mine. It is. But we can all learn from the most unlikely sources.

Hair looks awesome, and the shading on the clothes is not bad. The face is a bit pointy looking though...

...what kind of colored pencils do you use?
Oh yeah! The lyrics are a nice touch! Hmm...this is only personal preference, but I think it'd look kinda' neat if each line was kinda' scattered around the picture

The end strands of the hair were annoying me XD My pencil wouldn't sharpen so I couldn't make them really tiny... but thanks for the suggestion!!
As for pencils... I mostly use crayola and some prismacolor. The hair and sash (and pink ribbon) were completely prismas if I remember correctly. The tiny bow and everything in purple were crayola. The skin was this huge pencil that came in some random package... which I attempted to blend with a prisma colorless blender... The bra was a combo of prisma and crayola... I think that's it XD

hm... i use compute paper once in a while, but recently i've been using paper from my sketchbook, which is made by... Antioch (wtf?) and is 8x10. I don't think it's like smoother than computer paper or anything... I just like it <3

Augh, I know where're you're coming from RE: backgrounds. I'll have an awesome sketch and background in my mind, but I try and draw it, and it ruins the whole picture. *dies*
Anyway, I really like the feeling of wind this picture gives out. You did well with the hair and obi; they flow smoothly. Nice work!
