My Orlesian Bard.More DA inspired lineart. Looking towards Orlais this time.
With Dragon Age 3 partly taking place in Orlais, it made me start thinking about the Orlesian bards. In the original Dragon Age, Leliana was traditionally in an assortment of what felt like very Ferelden armor (big clunky leathers, bad hats etc). Whenever I've read about the high culture in Orlais, however, it just makes me pictures bards a little differently. Especially with their tendency's towards fashion.
So this is my Orlais inspired Bard, who I picture as a combination of frills, leather and cunning.
Excited to put some colour on this soon.

I really like the unique look of her outfit, it evokes a good feeling of a nostalgic life sense from within me when i look at it. But what really gets to me is the card like background, I really love it when the backdrop is card like (yes I love detailed tarot cards!). The whole picture makes her pop out as if from a video game, maybe something along the lines of Baten Kaitos is the kind of nostalgic feeling I get when I look at her and the art piece as a whole. It is really cool that she Is a bard, but I can't pin down what her prefered Insturment might be, but if I gathered based on the card like background I'd say: Harp/Lute, or the Reed Fife/PanPipes.
Toward the Future: If the colors are muted the feel I get from the picture would be kept; Though I'd be really curious/interested in what she would look like fully colored how you envision her and how that would change the feeling and the impression I get from this!

She makes me think of a mix between Soul Calibur's Tira and Rafael.

Absolutely stunning! Such a huge departure from something you would find in Ferelden I would easily expect this to be something that actually walks out of Orlais! You have done Orlais proud!
