Description Well, I was gonna complain about my scanner being Gay and how it would looks so much better in reality, but for some unknown reason, the scanner DIDN'T kill it.
Scanenrs are known for eating colors and killing tradisional art, especially with my scrappy dust and finger print covered Scanner. (I took that thing apart, and STILL I can't get those marks off!)

So, I won't complain, isntead I'll just sit back, smile, and tell you about the picture...

*AHEM.* This kind of looks like one of those 'two sides' 'reflection' 'the dark side' pictures. And maybe it is, I don't know. I just drew Tristepin... then wanted to draw his monster form. I drew Tristepin from memory, but the monster I had to get reference... then I had to just pratically copy a screen shot to make it look right. X_X; He's... he's kind of hard to draw.

Also a side note, I showed this to an amazing artist in my school, and apperently she admires my art. Which is funny, cause she's like the goddess of art that radiates and puts all other art to shame. (That's exageration i'm sure, but tons of artists feel like that, sometimes I do a little as well n_n;;;; )

Oh yeah, MAN THIS WAS FUN AND AMAZING TO DRAW AND COLOR! I had so much time to do so with the end of school and classes where you sit and do nothing. >8D

the art quality of the monster-pin is 3 times better than plain-pin. I think it's because on the monster you got more of a chance to show off subtle shading techniques and the monsterpin's composition is over all better, probably because you have him cropped interestingly and he fills the space more dynamically. right-side pin doesn fill the space quite as well, and sadly all that negative space calls out how you put his neck and face off center and that neck is probably too long as well. I do like the highlighights in his hair and it adds some visual interest that that side is sorely lacking. even though tristepin doesnt have a traditional human face, i think you could have given it more depth and shading, say, defining his lips or his brow ridges. maybe you could have tristepin smiling with teeth in the right one instead, providing another comparison point to his 'dark side' and adding more visual complexity to his face.
another option is to set tristepin at a slight overhead angle to match the set of the monster's shoulders. another great way to enhance that light vs dark side feeling youre going for is to align their eyes at the same height. it would provide a point of comparison and create a stronger connection between the two for the viewer.

The canson grey paper is brilliant for mimicking monster-pin's skin and adds a great texture. I particularly like the shading of his jaw and teeth. you really get a sense of the weight of that jaw, helped even more by the excellent line variation and quality. that's probably my favorite aspect of the overall piece, is the skillfully rendered lines that add a whole 'nother layer of quality to the drawing. I can honestly say I am jealous of those lines. my drawings tend to have shaky-sketchy lines i'm trying to train myself out of.

i hope you do more sketches in this medium, you really have a knack for the material!

Yes, Amazon.

I don't buy online cause i'm not old enough to. I have to be 18. So if I ever need anything, I tell mom and she buys it, ushaly from amazon.

And ebay you can't really buy, you have to auction, and buying is easier.
