Description This was an experiment with unusual perspectives, poses, viewpoints, etc, born from my utter boredom of drawing everything frmo eyelevel. I have to start doing more interesting things with my own pictures.
Anyhow, what originally started out as a dragon became an oni when I couldnt give him wings and managed to make his head look distinctly oriental looking. So ther ya go, big mean deamon beast.enjoy

Foreshortening in such a perspective usually very difficult for people, but you seemed to have mastered it rather well. Nice texturing as well.

The only thing that's kinda bothering me is that it seems to have a lot of hard edges, like the edges are just way darker than the rest of it. But that's not to say that you intended it or anything.

Overall, I really like it. Keep up the good work!

hehe. The edges were a deliberate step. this was one of the earlier pieces where i started to develop the style i generally work with now, using very strong, bold and crisp keylines (the hard edges).
i think what makes it look a little off in this image is the balance of that more graphic style, used at the same time as more natural shading. I have since found that those strong keylines are better suited to solid cell shading, or softer shading on the computer. Think that comes off better in more recent pieces
