My interpretation of Todd Boyce's Guardian Gunstar. Part of my Clone Wars Extended project.

The Guardian Gunstar much like the Defender is an older design dating back to over 80 yaren (years). Originally produced alongside the Defender as an escort class for the newly commissioned Columbia class Battlestar's replacing many ancient designs that dated back centuries before the unification of the Colonies.

The Guardian is the base frigate design for the Colonial Navy and while newer more mission specific designs have been produced more recently, the Guardian still holds it place in the fleet as a simple and reliable design.

Many survived the Cylon ambush of the 12 colonies though none at Attack at Cimtar survived. The Gunstar Vigilant herself is noteworthy of being part of Operation Outreach as an escort to the Battlestar Prometheus and surviving the Cylon attack due to not being in Colonial space at the time.
