As I announced to you all last week in Tails and Darwin 2 (after I told up-and-coming Sonic artist DistantDylan2391 about this on one of his status updates where I told him I’ll draw one of his OCs [which I’ll announce now that I’ve decided to be Dylan the Wolf]), here’s a Summer-themed Gumball crossover! Yeah, it’s about time I paired my pie-eyed shades-sporting incarnation of Gumball with another IP, and it made the most sense to me for that first non-TAWOG character to be Pete the Cat. Not only are they both blue cats that love the beach and have an instrument that they play, but I’ve even crossed these two over before a year ago! It was when I opened a second round of the Six Fanarts Challenge and I had Iza-the-Artist and ARandomGuy235 request Pete and Gumball to me respectively before Treyredavis came along and requested Pedro from Becca’s Bunch with a microphone, giving me the idea of him and the two cats playing a small concert together for Spyro the Dragon, David Rodriguez from South Park, and Olive the Other Reindeer. So it was only inevitable for me to put these two together again in my Summer Gumball AU. This is my first Pete the Cat drawing after I came out as transgender last April, my first Pete the Cat drawing to be shaded in, and the second crossover I drew with Gumball in a Summer setting (not the pie-eyed version I always use, however) after a comic strip of him and Sonic the Hedgehog surfing based on the scene with Enid and Red Action from OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes.
