I'm sure all of you have heard about the mess in New Orleans. If not just go over to [link] and watch some of the videos, read some of the stories. It's extremely depressing.In the past I've always given spare change to fundraisers for devastating events such as 9/11. This time, I'm starting one of my own.
At my school I'm trying to get Bids on a Framed Print of this picture and a closeup (I'll post that next), all money goes to the American Red Cross. At A-fest I'll be selling these prints for $10 donations only. And, finally, on my cafepress shop any money that would be my profit is instead going to the Red Cross as well.
The above image and her closeup are both dedicated to the Victims of Hurricane Katrina. I hope that all will turn out well for them, but right now they are without water, food, sewage, transportation, and electricity. There are people raping and shooting the civilians and the rescuers. I think they really need our help right about now, and I'm trying my best to give it to them.

your a good artist for donating your money and time towards a great cause. Yeah I tried to donate but I don't have much to donate. I helped one family that came back from New Orlens.

Wonderful picture--It's a shame that we live to far away and not be able to bid in school. (Not like I actually have the cash but.. >_< Still. Damn being broke.) And I'm happy to see you doing this in school! ^_^ I wanted to do something now me and FadingTwilight0 are playing aroud with some ideas to do in our school. x_X But we're not sure if that's gonna work or not, considering it's the start of a new year and one helluva project. >_> Mind if we borrow the artwork idea perhaps..? ^_^; I hope you raise a lot!
To comment on the art: Wonderful shading and the expression is so.. @_@ Wow. It's sad and troubled.. reminds me of some of the expressions I saw on the news on the peoples faces.. It's beautiful.

Well my school isn't too hyped about the idea, we're having the bid though and my English teacher made a slide for the piece. The local Office Max donated $250 worth of prints of the images and have already sold 4-5, which is $40-50 in donation. They're also going up in a local supermarket too
Go ahead and make art, I have yet to copyright any ideas

The fact that you've began a fundraiser is good, I'm very very happy to hear that one of my friends has started something like this. I've always wanted to start one, but no one would ever try to help. I also was in the making of a tribute..but it seems you've beaten me. 
Well, this is a wonderful picture you have up for this sad event, and maybe when I find myself an unused 10 dollars then I'll purchase a print. You've created something wonderful here, Steph. Keep it up. I'm with ya
