Description Remember that one post I made in journals detailing a possible storyline for Pokémon to attempt? How in the new region (referred to there as "Destra") the token criminal organization had already taken control, and you'd be given the arduous task of driving them out of power?

They were referred to as Team Gridlock, and I decided to try making a logo for them.

It's comparably abstract, but I personally find it somewhat eye-catching. The design is meant to personify the definition, with the white lines resembling traffic on different roads, each stopping where another line is in the middle of crossing. No movement is possible, thus everything is stopped; this is why the logo is octagonal and surrounded in red, almost like a Stop sign.

Earlier thoughts were to make the red areas somehow resemble a G, as most Pokémon criminal groups often had a main letter to resemble them. But it wouldn't have looked as good, and besides: G is already taken by Galactic.

Nintendp?

In terms of design I find it very creative given the references your making to a common traffic jam. Sure abstract but I mean, at least it's not as stale as just putting a big R or a G on a grunt's shirt.

So what's an executive considered then? Cause usually most members or any given team are just grunts.

Yeah yeah, I fixed it. My fingers have been getting tangled in knots on this keyboard. X3

The way I figure it, there's "Grunts," "Administrators," and "Executives" in Team Gridlock. Obviously the lowest of the low is the Grunt, which is practically like any Trainer, though not necessarily restricted to just Dark or Poison creatures. The Administrators are essentially the equivalent of Gym Leaders, and they each typically take command of a specific town/city. Finally, the Executives are like the Elite Four, overseeing all operations of the organization in general.

Naturally, if the Executives are taken down, the whole organization falls.

What's wrong with the keyboard now?

So kinda like in Black and White how you have to face N right at the very end of the first part of the game. Except, just how many executives would there be? Also with these administrators, would they be taking the place of the actual gym leaders of a town, or would you be fighting them like before/after you meet with a gym leader?

It's my fingers that seem to have the problem. X3

I'd imagine there to be five executives, one being the overall head of the organization.

As far as the concept goes, the Administrators are basically your "Gym Leaders" during the first go-around; if you plan to take down the Gridlock Executives you'll need 8 key chips (your badges of sorts) to get into the building, and each one is held by an Administrator.

When the organization is defeated, the second go-around is more "normal," with actual Gym Leaders in the towns, and an actual Elite Four and Champion. Naturally, they'll be harder to beat.

Oh, it sounded like you have a new keyboard or something.

I see how you've got it worked out there. Again kinda the thing we saw in Black and White, but instead of just being "here's a second path with just a bunch of trainers to level you up" it's kinda like a second quest.

Yeah. Like I mentioned before, I liked the way Gold/Silver worked things by offering a new experience after beating it the first time. This aims to do the same kind of thing, except you're on the same map, you have most of the HM's already, and it sorta continues the story, showing what happens "a year later."

I've thought about how, when beaten a second time, "Master Chalengers" would appear in certain places to *really* test your skills. And not in the "Battle Frontier" way.

Right, and I remember you mentioning a way to incorporate your old Pokemon team into the game after you reach the end of the first story. Question is though, does this become practical? Because in Black and White they didn't allow you to transfer your old team until after beating the Elite Four once.

Well, the transfer is an option. But it presents a different version of the story, and a slightly different experience.

As I recall, what with Team Gridlock's full control, there are already a lot of limitations. Your party on hand is immediately taken from you (you'll have to rescue them in addition to beating Gridlock), and when you first access the PC you'll only be able to take out Pokémon up to Lv. 20. Defeating each Administrator will increase the limit by increments of ten, until the last Administrator lets you take out Lv. 100 Pokémon.

I'd also expect the "veteran" campaign to be a little tougher, with trainer-type battles using slightly higher-level Pokémon than if you played the "newbie" campaign. It would at least compensate for the benefits of having your transferred Pokémon.

Right, right, I remember that now. I think I was a bit skeptical of that plan at first, but again after playing Pokemon Black Version (or at least playing through one of the games recently) I find it to work better.

Although I do have to raise at least one more question now, and I may have asked this earlier but I'm not sure. If you can transfer your old team, could you be given the option to skip the first story with Gridlock, and just proceed to the regular Gym battles and Elite Four?

Personally I think that would be a bad idea. There's a story to tell, and just skipping it all seems a bit wasteful. Plus you'll only be left with half the game to play.

Well, no I don't think it would be a good idea to just skip it. But let's just say a player would want to, could it be a possible option?

I wouldn't consider it.
