Description This is easily the most extensive ship model I've done so far, but i'm really pleased with the final result. The last design for the UN supercarrier wasn't necessarily terrible but I felt that it needed to look better, more like a carrier type vessel as the last design looked more like a cruiser or battleship, and I really hadn't considered places where hangars and such would be placed on it (kinda important since this is a supercarrier). So with this new model I took a lot of time thinking of where the hangars would be, how to make the ship have a slimmer profile and such. I made sure the "wing" armor were adequately covering most of the ship from the sides and had the hangars placed in such a way that the wing armor would properly protect them, since the massive fighter complement are these ships' main offensive role. I also thought it'd be cool to add small docking stations for smaller ships to give the supercarrier that look of being a real command vessel able to repair and carry in extra ships if so needed. All in all I wouldn't say this is 100% final but if I do any changes from here on to the model it probably won't be too major.

The UNMC Supercarrier is currently the single largest class of starship in the known galaxy, outclassing the biggest and most powerful ships of the Allied Confederation, Unified Republics, and the Exohuman Supremacy. A little over 3 kilometers in length, the supercarrier is currently the end all be all in the UN naval arsenal, striking fear into opposing forces when one of these ships shows up. The vessel was introduced in mid-2334 with the unveiling of the class leader UNS Perses, as well as the UNS Fortune of Aeon and UNS Hitachi. Entering service near the closing years of the UN's campaign against the revolutionist organization EMPIRE, the Perses-class was a game changer when introduced to the fleet. Terrifying EMPIRE for the last couple years of the conflict and continuing its dominance into factions War not soon after, supercarriers proved their worth immensely and by 2345 the UN Navy had 10 of these ships in service, 4 of which were part of the UN Navy 1st Fleet alone. The supercarrier is a massive weapons and fighter deployment platform able to coordinate an entire fleet from inside its cavernous command bridge. To see one in action has been described as an amazing display of power, with the largest array of secondary weaponry on any class of UN ship and equipped with a tier 4 shock cannon as its main gun able to output a staggering 350 megatons with every shot. No ship in existence has been able to take more than one shot from this powerful cannon including Exohuman ships which are on par technologically with the UN. The supercarrier can also carry 3 entire divisions of fighters for unrivaled strike capabilities, able to blanket dozens of enemy ships extremely quickly. One very useful function of these ships is the ability to carry and repair smaller ships, the largest that it can carry being a destroyer. One ship can be carried on each side, kept in place with advanced stasis carriages. This function has been used to carry extra reinforcements into engagements, evacuate damaged vessels, quickly provide field repairs, etc. Supercarriers are only deployed at the most vital engagements or to defend extremely important worlds such as Olympia, Ingenero, and of course Earth. The supercarrier UNS Archangel was present at Earth prior to the massive Exohuman attack on the planet on October 30th of 2345, and participated in the enormous space engagement over the course of the initial assault. Unfortunately for the Archangel, the Exohumans were persistent in their efforts to destroy it and finally cornered the ship 12 hours into the battle. While the Archangel was able to single handedly fend off and destroy 9 enemy ships, it was eventually destroyed by back-to-back particle accelerator hits from 2 Exohuman battleships. 2 months after the initial attack and well into the now Human-Exohuman War, the UN started construction on the Archangel's replacement dubbed the UNS Guardian's Fang, slated to be completed in early 2346.

The UNS Fortune of Aeon was the first ship of this class to see combat, flying with the UN Navy's appropriately named Battlegroup Aeon. In late 2334 Battlegroup Aeon came across a significant EMPIRE assault fleet attempting to invade the UN colony of Apex, and immediately moved in to engage. The EMPIRE fleet, clearly wary of the enormous UN ship, cautiously engaged the UN fleet from a distance while quickly detaching a small group to swing around and attack the supercarrier directly. The small task force of 10 ships closed in to unleash their fire on the Fortune of Aeon, but were met with the full force of its offensive power. hundreds of fighters swarmed all over the group damaging most of the ships, who then scrambled to fire on the Aeon. Fortunately, the Aeon's super-heavy plating proved to be much more effective than expected as the ship sustained nothing more than a series of deep dents in its outer wing plating, and subsequently unleashed its own weapons. A single shot from its tier 4 shock cannon literally atomized an EMPIRE light cruiser, and took down another 2 ships with its tier 2 cannons. A heavy volley of missiles decimated another 5 ships, and focused fire from its heavy railgun turrets took down the last 2 EMPIRE frigates, severing one completely in half and leaving the other with a massive hole straight through its forward sections. The Aeon then returned to the main fleet and continued fighting until the attackers retreated. The combat assessment of supercarriers was very positive and prompted the continued construction of the class throughout the next decade, and were used extensively in the Factions War when the UN once again fought the 2 other human governments. On more than one occasion the UN observed enemy fleets outright retreating as soon as a fleet with supercarriers appeared, and on one incident an entire United Republics light fleet surrendered to an invading UN Navy fleet that had a single supercarrier as its flagship. Carrier strike groups with supercarriers at their center are normally escorted by 10-20 frigates and destroyers, several heavy cruisers and possibly 1 or 2 battlecruisers for additional heavy support.

Awesome ship! so for what you're going to use all those ships? A mod?

Thank you! Glad you like the model Well for now these are mostly for reference for when I need to draw them in the comic series, or scale charts and so on, but eventually I would love to make a mod with ships from this series! Im a huge fan of crazy space battles

Crazy space battles uh? Well this sounds and looks like it could be a perfect mod for sins of a solar empire: rebellion, do you know how to create textures?

You know what you're perfectly right about that! sins was the first thought I had when considering doing a mod with these ships. (I've got the Sins of the prophets halo mod for rebellion right now actually). I do know how to create textures as well, I wouldn't say I'm anywhere near an "expert" at it but I can make them well enough to work right haha.

Wow then you probably could make a mod for soase, you already have quite a lot of models, a overall design for each faction, the story and properties of that universe, and you know how to make decent textures. The mod tools for soase don't seem hard to use, so maybe you could try to texture some human ships and replace them for TEC and see how it looks. Of course if you want to do a total conversion mod for it, then you may want to make structures, planetary defenses and superweapons for each faction too.

You know what that's a pretty good idea, I definitely have a good amount of models lying around that I could use. I took a look at that video and it doesn't seem too crazy to figure out, probably just a good couple hours of messing with it and I could maybe get something working. I think I will try to make some basic textures on a few ships and see if I can get them in the soase engine! Would be cool to see if they actually work since I would love to make a full mod somewhere down the line. I think the combat with my ships would be pretty interesting to see.
