Ever wonder what's inside a marsupial pouch? Baby marsupials, or joeys, are born extremely undeveloped. It is the joey's job to climb into the pouch after birth and latch onto a teat, where it will remain until old enough to peek its head out. Amazingly, a kangaroo can nurse two joeys of different ages at a time. The milk produced by the two mammary glands will be of vastly different composition to account for the requirements of newborn and older babies.

What is this?

June 17, 2013 marked the beginning of the fifth annual 50-50, an art marathon hosted annually by Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica, California. 69 local artists were selected to each create fifty small works of art in fifty days. They will be diplayed in a 7x7 grid with the 50th set to the side, like so: [link]

My chosen theme is "Bioforms," Bic ballpoint pen on Canson "classic cream" drawing paper, 6x6. Each will be mounted on a rigid particle board backing. Here I will illustrate scientific concepts and explore the organic forms and patterns found in nature.

They are for sale for, you guessed it, $50. Please message me through my facebook artist page if you are interested. [link]
