Yes, I have to agree. The Gothic style was introduced by the Knights Templars in 11th and 12th century. For this time it was really impressive as they implemented what they have seen at the Temple in Jerusalem. For example you mostly see windows designed as a six-petaled rose - it came from there and from them, too
