Description
This is my submission for a contest being held by the Angry Video Game Nerd and the Nostalgia Critic, two very entertaining video bloggers you should get to know if you don't already. On Oct. 10 they are showing a video of them beating the crap out of each other, and so to celebrate they asked fans to come up with poster designs for the event.The body of the Nerd comes courtesy of Arnold Schwarzenegger: [link]

Thank you, I thought this sort of thing cried out for mountains of cheese too. I wanted it to look like a cross between an 80's metal album cover and a professional wrestling promotional poster. Although in all honesty I probably wouldn't have gone this route if I'd known so many other artists were doing the fight promotional style image too, but I guess it was just too obvious not to do.

Indeed, I'm not surprised many people went that route too. Had I found out about the Nostalgia Critic (which is how I found out about the AVGN) sooner, I would have entered too.

You cheesed it up just the right amount. I like the red and blue outlines and the ginormous unholy lighting bolt in the background.

I used a photo of a tesla coil as reference for the mega-lightning, because you usually don't see lightning that huge in nature. Cheesy was right where I was going for on this, like a bad 80's metal album cover mixed with Japanese DVD box art.

I just did a Google image search and found a good one. That's pretty much how I find all my reference material, or the vast majority anyway.

*LOL* Beautiful. With the way the AVGN is posed, he looks like he's going to hump something; and the Critic looks like he'd pull a Mike Tyson and chomp down on the AVGN's arm. "MEEEEAAAAT!"

Yeah, the Critic does look ravenous. I never thought of the Nerd as wanting to hump things, but that idea does add a new level of humor and terror to this pic.
