Description
This is my end of an art trade with Thweatted, who in turn drew mine and EZG's character Chicky(which turned out great). These two characters came from a character design sheet she did, link

I made the girl a bit older, and took the guy in sort of a "The Shadow" direction.
I also took the liberty of naming him The Bohemian, for no real reason, since, as
far as I know, Thweatted hasn't named them yet. Something to fill the wanted poster
anyway.

This is pretty awesome, there's just something about the mood of this that I really like. The characters have the usual charm that you give. And speaking of Alan Moore ... The Bohemian, that's a name for a character that would have probably fit right in in the Watchman. He probably wouldn't have gotten along with the Comedian. He reminds me a little of Deflater Mouse, from the Tick.

It's the ears, certainly. I'd forgotten all about that guy, he was cool. I've no idea why The Bohemian seemed like the right name to hang on this character. An earlier composition I had in mind had him sitting against a wall or telephone pole with the wanted poster of him hanging over his head, and he was holding a guitar while reaching into his holster or cape to pull out a gun. The girl would be sitting next to him, sipping a straw sticking out of a milk carton, which would have a Missing Child advisory with her picture in it. This would've been too complicated though, and the image I went with is easier to read and expresses the mood I was aiming at better. And I don't think either of these belong anywhere near an Alan Moore-created universe. Most people don't.

That would definitely be a cool composition too. As for the Bohemian, I don't think he'd belong in an Allan Moore comic book either. But the name, in and of itself, seems like it could be the name of a character in The Watchman, I think.

wow, that's so very cool. I love that, the pose, the idea, the image, the execution and the kind of rough style.
I looked at the original character concepts by thweatted, I think you changed them quite a bit, and I like how you did it

Haha! I see what you mean about going in the direction of 'The Shadow' (and maybe some Darkwing Duck - well, just the hat ^_^'). It's an amusing piece, the girl looks coy and playful

People keep hassling Disney about coming out with a Ducktales or Darkwing Duck box set, but Disney keeps telling them it'll never happen and to leave them the hell alone. Why does Gargoyles get a set release and the Disney afternoon stuff not? I think they're a bunch of liars, or idiots, pick one. Nothing against Gargoyles mind you, but still...

That and all the other old Disney TV shows come on the Toon Disney network, which I don't get anymore. Still, they ought to put the box sets out anyway, the jerks. And yes, the NES games rocked hard, the first Ducktales is one of my all-time favorite 8-bitters, right along with the Adventure Island and Mario series.

they made a remake of Adventure Island for the GC (but only in Japanese sadly). It's fully 3D, but the stages are exactly the same! *is all giddy about it* It's like they just replaced the old 2D sprites with 3D ones. I played it at an import shop... maybe I should get it hmmmm....
What I loved about the Ducktales games (besides the games itself of course) is the soundtrack. I managed to hunt down some remixes of those a while back. Aaah ^_^

I might've heard some of those. That Adventure Island sounds awesomer than hell and you should buy it at once. I love 3d graphix, but only in platformers and shooters. Full immersion gameplay is for turkeys, give me old school anyday!

once again nice choice of colors. So simple and gives it that old weatern style. Great lighting on the glasses too. Its a cool refelection.

Yeah, don't know why I decided "old western" fit these characters, but that's what I got. Guess I wanted to do the opposite of what I was expecting from myself, going really anime/cartoony or whatever. Gotta mix it up from time to time, y'know?

you weren't the only one who was anxious...I must've gone through three or four ideas before deciding on this approach! This is just what ended up happening once I put pencil to paper. I'm really glad you like it, I knew I had to do good after seeing the lovely take on chicky you did. A funny fact, but I forgot to add the man's fox ears in the drawing, so I added those in Photoshop. They really give balance to the guy's head.

Wow. That's some nice stuff. The line art and colour look like something from an old english cartoon (with the intricate hatching), but fused with the old western look. I think Alan Moore has a relacement lined up for LoEG if he ever needs one.
btw, I've been really busy to reply to your awesome email review of my comic thingy (and uber long O_o ). I'm not as busy now, so I'll reply properly soon.

Hey, I'm real glad to hear from you again! I'd been worried about it. But being busy is understandable and a very good thing.
So anyway, that's a pretty kickin' compliment! God only knows I'd draw anything damned thing Alan Moore wanted me to. I was concerned at first that the coloring wouldn't look good with the inking, but I think I ironed it out alright. I mainly just had to tone the color down a lot and let the inking do most of the work. I might've left it B& W, except a lot of the image depends on the lipstick gag, and I wanted the translucency from the goggles in there. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have colored it.
