Description I absolutely gave up while drawing this and I hate it so much, but idk if i’ll be able to post for Halloween tomorrow so i’m just gonna leave this here.
of course my characters with the most complex designs are related lmfao

while I hate the art, I love the characters and their story

Beewolf (who I adopted from CRITTERRRR ) is a soldier and scout for Queen Wasp’s army. He was raised in Yellowjacket Hive, and lived in large house with his upper-class family and twin brother, Baeus. He had an average HiveWing dragonethood; he had good friends and attended a great school. His family had SilkWing servants, who Beewolf ignored. He wasnt mean to them, he was just uninterested in the lower class and politely acted as if they werent a major role in his life. When he was eight, he joined the army with Baeus, where his brother introduced Dot to him. Dot was a red and white spotted SilkWing who helped the nurses in the army encampment, and as you can imagine, Beewolf was quite shocked when his brother told him that they were secretly dating. Beewolf debated telling the queen, or at least one of the generals, about his brother's forbidden relationship, but in the end decided not too. He lived his brother too dearly to ever betray him like that, and, begrudgingly, got to know Dot (who turned out to be just as charming and funny as any other HiveWing Beewolf had known)

Slowly after meeting Dot, Beewolf found himself noticing his SilkWing hive-mates more, and even helping them and befriending a few. He quickly became one of the more approachable SilkWing-Friendly HiveWings, and even an ally (though none of them trusted him enough to let him know about The Chrysalis).
When he was twelve, he and one of his friends and Wing-Mates, Termite, were sent out to patrol around the poison jungle in search of a certain runaway flame-silk. While he was there, he and Termite separated to look around, and that was where he met Laurel; the feisty LeafWing from deep within the jungle.

Laurel (designed by yours truly) was one of the hunters for the SapWing side of the LeafWing tribe. From the start, Laurel was fierce, energetic, feisty, and stubborn. She always had her own ideas about things, and was quick to come to conclusions. She was strong willed and determined; a flame that could never die out.
Where she got all of that energy and independence, her family had no idea. Her mother and father were both kindly and gentle and were in charge of keeping the barrier around their home secure and out of sight. They were both calm and quiet, as well as deeply loyal to Queen Sequoia and the LeafWing tribe. The only time they ever got fired up was when talking about the HiveWings. Her little brother, Sapling, was a sweet and calm dragonet. He helped his parents grow the plants around their home, and supported their ideas against the HiveWings.
And Laurel couldnt be more different.
She, like her family, also possessed a strong LeafSpeak, though she had no intention to ever use it. She, unlike her parents, had an open mind about the HiveWings and SilkWings, and thought Queen Sequoia was suspicious. She wanted to learn more about them, and was desperate to explore Pantala on her own, though she knew it was too dangerous, even for her.
Queen Sequoia wanted her to be a Plant-Tender, though Laurel fought off that idea insisting that she wanted to be a fighter. The queen disagreed, but made a compromise, letting her be a hunter and a Dragon-Snap killer, as she was too wild to keep in camp.
And so she was, and that was how she met Beewolf.
One day, while hunting on the edge of the Poison Jungle, she saw a black HiveWing in a small clearing. Curious and frightened and furious, Laurel wasted no time in attacking him and questioning him. He was, naturally, frightened out of his mind and tried to get away, though after a long conversation he found himself falling for her, and she him. They decided to meet each other that clearing every other day while he was out searching for the missing SilkWings, until one day he arrived and there was no sign of her.
After the LeafWings fled to Pyrrhia, on a small island about half way there, Laurel had laid an egg. It was small and very dark green, dotted with yellow and black flecks. Her tribe-mates marveled how it was unlike any other LeafWing egg they had ever seen, though Laurel's mother insisted that sometimes they could look unusual.
For the rest of the journey to Pyrrhia Laurel was an anxious wreck. She knew that her dragonet was also Beewolf's, and knew that if it favored him she would be banned from her tribe for interacting with the enemy. As you can imagine, she was quite relieved when she hatched and looked mostly LeafWing, with a few exceptions.

Pumpkin (who I adopted from bejeweled--crows ) hatched three days after the LeafWings arrived on the north-western shores of Pyrrhia, in a small city in the making called Unity (that, then, was merely a coastal SandWing/IceWing village. It would soon become a large metropolis that housed hundreds of Pantalan and Pyrrhian dragons).
At first, she looked fully LeafWing. Small and green, with what was assumed to be the rare orange eyed genetic defect, though as time went on, her scales gradually faded and shifted, until she was three years old, and her scales were green with orange underscales; the colors she would be for the rest of her life. That and the horn on her forehead were the key signs that she was a hybrid, though Laurel insisted that Orange-Scaled LeafWings were just a rare scale condition (which, technically, they were, though in Pumpkin's case they werent)
Pumpkin had no idea that she was a hybrid. She just assumed that her father had died on the way to Pyrrhia (during which one of Laurel's close friends, Oak, did die. She claimed that he was the father, knowing the truth would be the ultimate betrayal and would result in her getting kicked out of the tribe and nobody ever trusting her again)
she was a very happy and healthy dragonet. She, just like her mother, was feisty, adventurous, and opinionated, though she also inherited her father's patience and pride.
She grew up hearing the horror stories of The Tree Wars, and was raised to hate the HiveWings, as they were the reason she was hatched on an unfamiliar continent far far away from her parent's homes.  She was very vocal in her hate for the infamous wasp-dragons, and was deeply loyal to her tribe.
She had good friends, of course. Three LeafWings; Birch, Beech, Oleander, and Ash. Three SilkWings; Mocker, Satyr, and Regal, and five Pyrrhian-Pantalan hybrids: Spearmint, Thunder, Yucca, Goldenrod, Zinnia, and Primrose. They were her support, and helped her get into all sorts of trouble.
While the newly risen Tree Wars was raging off of Pyrrhia's shores, Laurel stayed with her daughter in their small house. It wasnt until two years later, when she was six, that the war came to an end, and she met her father.
When Beewolf arrived, he had scars across his chest and face. He looked beaten and battlescarred, and, to be honest, quite fearsome. As you can imagine, Pumpkin was extremely pissed and confused when she came home after school to find her mother hugging a strange, unfamiliar HiveWing in their living room.
At first, Pumpkin was furious and disgusted. She had an almost Hollyleaf reaction (if you've read Warriors you'll know what I mean). She went into a state of severe depression and had a severe identity crisis that lasted for almost a year and a half. How could she be part HiveWing? HiveWing? the bad tribe that killed off her beloved trees! It was horrible and she blamed nobody but her parents, so she left without a note or anything.
She arrived at Spearmint's home later that day, where she was told by her friend Thunder about a group called The HalfWings; a organization of hybrids that served as their own, small tribe, with a leader and generals and everything. They were originally made during the war as a safe place for hybrid dragons to hide from Princess Burn and her desire to stuff any unusual dragon she saw, but once the war ended the group stuck together and even started to grow. Never wanting to return home, Pumpkin decided to leave and join The HalfWings in hope to build a new life for herself and meet others like her. She did, joined by Thunder and Spearmint, and the three of them settled in without any fuss.
The leader of The HalfWings was a sturdy Mud/Rain hybrid named Mangrove, with a second-in-command Sky/Rain hybrid named Aye-aye.
Pumpkin and her friends lived there for six happy years, making new friends and building lives for their own, and gradually, Pumpkin found herself accepting the fact that she was half HiveWing and even began to become curious about her father.
She began writing him letters and getting to know him, and eventually visited him and her mother, who were not together anymore but remained friends. She and her parents rebuild their relationships and eventually, all was forgiven.
When she was thirteen, she met Tent; a tall and very handsome orange and white SilkWing, and after three years the two married and then went on to have two dragonets: Tosale and Pollen.
She lived the rest of her days as a proud member of The HalfWings, and lived until the ripe old age of 131.
