are you actually working this way?
those grey boxes look really cool, and the large shadows make it look eerie, but i don't think i could work this way. too minimal.
is the playlist-thingy cygwin-stuff, too? that is sth i'd like for my media player.

i like the quote. i've actually been trying to (partly) work this way - for some time i intentionally had no internet at home and was using library computers. apart from the time limit there's also the computer's owners "security" settings (which often seems to be closer to "morality") - for example i could not run utorrent, not from my usb stick either, and piratebay was blocked, too.
...i guess it boils down to a legal thing, even if it is possible to make this bubble totally inpermeable as far as the local machine is concerned, they would still be responsible somehow. and wanting to keep control.

Its an interesting concept. Though you are technically booting from an external hard-disk, it just happens to be in a VM, kind of like a sneaky shortcut around using separate hardware profiles.
