Finished ver. [link]A lot of layers. Actually, this is the 3rd file from the start of the work. Former 2 files also have many layers as same as this.

Photoshop doesn't really work right with me. Every time I try to layer on it the colors bleed through the lineart, and it drives me crazy, so I hardly ever use it. I have Corel Painter and it's easier to work with

I don't remember how I did to draw the yellow donuts...
Ring donuts layer + Ring donuts layer copy1 applied filter:Gauss 15~20pixel, mode:screen, opacity:30~50per + Ring donuts layer copy2 applied filter:Gauss 15~20pixel, mode
The lines' strength need to be graded to fit the view, so the line layer should be underneath of the surface layer. (In this case, I organized lines into colored layer before applying the filters. It was not good because the gaussian lines have darken the gaussian yellow color. I failed.)

I could never work with that many layers. I only use about..5 at the max.

I think a good art is not always necessarily using many layers. I know there are good artists who usually use only 3~4 layers.
